25-34 year old male
Since 2010 I am living in Barcelona, Catalonia, and it became my home from the very first beginning. Barcelona is a very beautiful, safe, and inspiring city that it's really enjoyable for every kind of traveler. I enjoy playing beach volleyball right after work with my friends, and the endless things you can do all over Catalonia and surroundings.
Bars & Clubs
You can find Barcelona's city beach in the neighborhood of Barceloneta, the old fishing town. Here you can relax, play beach ball, and enjoy some cold beers at the beach bars.
The biggest town north of Barcelona is the city of Mataro. Here you have a beautiful beach full of locals. But no worries, there's plenty of space for everyone! The beach bars offer delicious paella, completely local and reasonably priced. A great way to end your beach day, right?!
Badalona is one of my favorite beaches during the summer. Just hop on the train, and after a short 15-minute ride, you can hang out at Badalonas Beach with locals. I love it because there are plenty of families around, and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.
This is Barcelona's nude beach. Here you can decide whether to take the sun without any clothing or keep your clothes on. The beach is located behind a green dune. And if you fancy trying some stand-up paddle surfing, you can get started here, in the calm waters of the sea.
This is the very first town you reach on the Costa Brava. The train takes about an hour and a half, but it's 100% worth it! The beach is wide, and you can even hike along the coast and discover some coves. So beautiful. Make sure you bring your camera, you will need it!
Famous for its film festivals and other events, the town of Sitges is a beautiful place to visit. Platja de la Barra is one of a number of small beaches around the wide main beachfront.
At Castelldefels, you can relax on a wide, long beach with way less people than in Barcelona city proper. This is also the perfect spot for water sports such as kite surfing.
Montgat is another great beach just 20 minutes north of Barcelona. It's a great place for water sports and beach sports. The train station is right in front of the beach, so you can't miss it!
Lots of 'chringuitos' (beach bars) with a great 'chill out' atmosphere. The perfect place for a cocktail at the beach. There are also numerous beach volleyball courts. Challenge accepted?
This stunning city in the south of Barcelona has its own beautiful beaches and several coves. Just choose the one with less people and relax! Bring your own food and drinks, as there are not many bars around.
