This is the best value in Florence for gelato. They make their gelato fresh everyday and it is the lease expensive gelateria in town. We go there almost every day.

Centro is where it is at. All of the major squares are here and most of the museums as well. Shopping is great, whether you use the department stores or the literally hundreds of street vendors who set up their stalls along the streets. If you eat at one of the restaurants in the squares, be prepared to pay a bit more than the equally good restaurants just half block off the squares.

Great museum. There are so many pieces of fine art it is hard to imagine the wealth of the the Medici family.

Francesca is the best guide in Florence. She is like an encyclopedia of knowledge about Florence and its history. Take a private tour with her if you can. You will see and learn about more in half a day than if you took several tours with a large group. If you can't arrange a private tour, try to get a small group tour with her. She is the best.
