Roberto R's City Tips

  • Tipping is optional; 10% of the bill is usually considered a fair amount to leave for the waiters.
  • Public transportation in Lima can be complicated to understand, so for tourists, the easiest way to get around is by taxi or on foot.
  • Locals dress casually for most restaurants, with a few upscale exceptions.

    Roberto R Says:

Named the best restaurant in Latin America in 2014. When you go to Central Restaurante, you go for the whole experience, not just for the pleasure of eating gourmet food. Its title of Best Restaurant in Peru and Latin America is well deserved: This place offers great food and a unique, personalized service that will undoubtedly exceed your expectations.

I consider this restaurant to have the best 'anticuchos' (beef-heart skewers) in town. Do not be scared to try them! They are very tasty, smooth, and well-seasoned. The locale is small but cozy, and is bound to win you over too.
