This is an iconic temple located in the north of Bangalore, and a great place to experience the religious culture of the city. The temple is dedicated to two beloved gods of India, Radha and Krishna, who were desperately in love with one other but unable to marry. Some parts of this beautiful temple are plated in gold, and everyone who visits is offered prasad (blessed holy food) before leaving.
One of my favorite pubs in Bangalore, Toit is an amazing place to kick start your weekend in this fun city. This pub has a huge variety of beers, and the best part is that they even brew their own! The place is usually buzzing with people since the food here is really yummy too.
For anyone who is a Shiv devotee, or for those who are interested in the cultural and religious aspects of the city, the Shiv Mandir Temple is a must-visit attraction. A 65 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva awaits you at this temple; exploring here is truly a delightful experience, and definitely a peaceful one too!
One of my favorite cafes in Bangalore, the Cupcake Company has cupcakes to die for! They have a variety of many different flavors, including the decadent Death by Chocolate, Red Velvet, and Oreo flavors. The cupcakes' presentation is amazing, and the cafe is really cute and nicely decorated.
This place is one of the few in the city which are open till late, and where after a great night on the town you can go and get some really good food! This is not a posh place (perhaps a little dingy) but I really enjoy the no-frills, authentic food here.
One of my favorite things to do, when the weather permits, is to go for walk alone or with a friend. The Sankey Tank is a great place to be able to get away from the hustle and busy streets of Bangalore and get some peace and quiet. Although it's man made, the lake is quite nice, and walking around it is a great way to enjoy beautiful sunsets and get some fresh air.
If you like to indulge in good food, a party atmosphere, and dance the night away. then Loft 38 is the perfect place to visit in Bangalore. Delicious dishes with excellent presentation, and great ambiance and decor make this spot a good choice for a night out with friends or family!
Watsons for me is more about the view than anything else. Of course the food and drinks are great, but the view of the lush greens of Bangalore right beside your table is breathtaking. It's a great spot to hangout for a nice meal and a peaceful evening.
This is one of the most beautiful churches in the city, and the oldest too, with lots of history attached. Not only does it attract Christians, but many people from other religions also come to visit for the church's amazing architecture and very peaceful atmosphere. It is a lovely, tranquil place to spend some time, especially if you're a fan of religious buildings.
The Monkey Bar is a great hangout spot, where you can go to chill, play pool or table football, and eat some tasty food. The presentation and variety of their dishes is amazing, as is the ambiance and decor of the venue itself. Certainly not just your regular restaurant or bar, you'll be glad you stopped by here.
One of the best Japanese restaurants in the city! Being a sushi lover, I always make it my mission to find the best sushi in town — and in Bangalore, Shiro is definitely it! Far better than any of new sushi spots now popping up, the food at Shiro is amazing, as is the quality of the decor and overall ambiance of the restaurant. It's also handily located in UB city, which is one of the most happening places in Bangalore.
If you really want to experience Bangalore like a local, then you have to sample some roadside 'dosa;' a rice and black lentil flour crepe which is a staple Bangalorian food. This place has a live dosa station where you can see how quick and easy it is to make dosa: that is to say, it's not as easy as it looks! You may have to stand and eat, but it's so yummy that you must try the experience at least once.
This is one of the best places to experience modern and contemporary art in Bangalore. Some really great artists are showcased here, and there is a cute cafe to relax with a great cup of coffee and reflect on the amazing art exhibits you've just seen.
The restaurant inside this hotel makes for a divine experience for all of those vegetarians out there. Here you can experience a really great way of dining — on a banana leaf. You can buy an all-you-can-eat meal where they keep refilling your leaf with some great Bangalorean delicacies until you say stop!
There are many Barista cafes in the city, so make sure you try at least one of the branches of this Indian chain. The coffees here are really amazing and so are the desserts. A great place to just come and read a book, hangout with friends, or just get a great cup of coffee.
