This is the best place to view RIO both day and night. You can see the Copacabana beach as well as the Corcovado - Christ Redentor with clear cloud and the beach with ships and boats. Basically almost 360 degree view. It's cold there @ night when it rain but after the rain, the night view is fantastic and I took the cable car down at 8.30pm. Didn't manage to capture the sunset but the view up there is great.
The tallest Christ d Redeemer on the highest peak of RIO to view the most stunning view but get covered by cloud too. Last tram down at 7pm so can't take sunset. Pray for good weather for good photo. There is a chapel beneath the status if you want the quite moment for prayer.
Beach lovers. This is the place to see sunset. Enjoy the walk on the sandy beach while waiting for the sunset is great. At the edge of the hill can see both Copacabana beach and Ipanema beach. Climb up the hill and wait for sunset.
The monastery is a few hundred years old with pure gold still intact inside. I was lucky to capture the inside view just before they switch off the lights. It was a long walk up but worth visiting.
This is the tourists beach with hotels just opposite the beach. I was lucky to capture the rainbow since raining facing the Sugarloaf. Beautiful beach not to be missed. Enjoy your swim and beach activities. There are sand castles etc too.
This is unique Cathedral with space ship like design. When you go inside give you the 360 view with stainless glass up to the top.
This is place to visit in the month of December and view the tallest X'mas tree in the world. If right timing can see the fire-works too.
Sadly, no more tram - the station is there but kind of abandon. Nice hilly place but not maintain. What a waste?
I good place to get out of city. The jungle is cooling and the waterfall is beautiful. Hike up to the top and if lucky not covered by cloud can see the view of the city below. It took us 6 hrs to walk to top and back down. Really tired.
Join the RIO Free walking tour and experience the city with the rest.
