Pier house Is my favorite place to stay. The location is great! It is all about location, location, location. You can easily get to everywhere else by foot. The rooms are super clean and nice. The have a bar & restaurant on site. There is also a private beach which I love! We spend most of our day here in the water. There is also a pool & hot tube to use late at night. We have been here multiple times and they recognize that, which is awesome!
This is a hidden gem off on the side street not far from Duval. It is very private, The price great for Key West. You get a great breakfast served poolside every morning. It is quiet and relaxing. They also put some snacks out in the gazebo for you to help yourself. The rooms are very clean and nice. Oh yeah and for the cat lovers they even have a cat!
We have also stayed here a couple times. This is a very nice resort with a very good restaurant. This one also is a great location and easy to get to everything else.
This is one of my favorite spots because you can eat outside of inside. They have great food! Service is always good. I tend to go here for breakfast since there are not too many spots for that. They also have karaoke at night time inside.
The Rum Barrel is a must especially if you are from the Philadelphia area. They serve scrapple & other items we are familiar with. If you sit on the rooftop which of course is outside you can get a great view.
You may sit outside or inside or at 2-3 different bars. You will get plastic ware to eat with. There almost always is live music to listen to. The windows inside are covered with stickers, so make sure you bring one along with to stick up there. There is also a store attached that you can get shirts and glassware from.
Make sure you make reservations! The dessert is expensive but good. It is more about the experience. There are hardly no lights except candles and the menus light up. There are card games on the table and flashlights to use. The desserts have sexual names and some even look like things. For 18 and over.
Mallory square is where it all happens. At night this area comes to life. Everyone gathers to watch the sunset and take pictures. The is food, craft vendors and street performers. Very full and busy. Make sure to see the cat man and his show. If you don't see him just ask almost everyone knows his show.
Take the guided tour and you will get so much more out of it. There are tons of cats walking around. The house of Ernest Hemmingway is beautiful and so are the grounds. There is a little gift shop to visit by the pool. They will do weddings here as well.
This has lots of butterflies and birds to see. This is a self guided tour. It is very relaxing and warm in here. Take your time and maybe even a butterfly will land on you! There is also a gift shop.
From this spot there is only 90 miles to Cuba. This is a great spot to take a picture but be prepare to wait in line to do so.
Sloppy Joes has a lot of history to it but I wont ruin that for you. Just take the Conch train tour and See the Hemmingway house. The Sloppy Joes are wonderful. It is very loud here and live music and 3 bars.
This is a guided tour. The will take you through the house and tell all of the history.
Prepare to hike a lot of steps. This has a beautiful view once you can make it to the top. The stairs are spiral and very narrow. It is hard to pass someone on them.
This is the main street and where all the action happens. The are tons of stores, bars and other things. Be prepared to walk.
This is a self guided tour. There are maps you can print out ahead of time. Wear good walking shoes because the ground is uneven. There are some very funny grave stones.
This is a self guided tour and was free when I was there.
If you go at the right time you can watch a feeding and you can pet a shark. Just ask what times the tours are. Lots to see.
This is all about the sunken treasure that was found in Key West. They have lots and lots of pieces on display. You could spend a ton of time if you choose to read everything. This is a guided tour then at the end you may walk back through before you exit.
This is a self guided tour of all the treasures that Mel Fisher found.
This is the only Ripley's Believe it or not that I have been to. There is some of Key West's history mixed in here as well.
This is a nice walk away from the main attractions. It is very small but some neat pieces to see.
During the day it is very quiet here and not much goes on, but at night it comes to life. I tis peaceful here as well.
These are the best sandals!! The shop is located down a side street....Be prepared for chaos when going in. It is always busy. The sandals are handmade and vary in sizes...be sure to try them on to make sure they fit!! They have woman's, men's, and kids.
This is a little hidden....just ask someone how to get to it. I have actually only eaten here for breakfast and came at night for the music. When you get something to eat you will get plastic ware.
We do this every time we go to Key West. It help refresh us as to where everything is and reminds us of all the history in Key West. You can get off and on at different stops as well.
This is my favorite place to do breakfast. It is open air and you can eat at a bar facing the street to take in all of the views. Everything is great and you get real silverware.
