Tim A's City Tips

  • Many museums, attractions and hotels in the area offer big discounts. Check online before you any bookings to see what sorts of coupon codes or combo packages are available.
  • Although many of the museums are within walking distance of one another, you really should have a car in Branson to make sure you can see everything and maximize your time.
  • The shows often book up far in advance, so plan ahead and make reservations early.

Situated underneath Silver Dollar City, Marvel Cave is spectacular geological wonder that was both the impetus for the theme park (which grew up around the cave's entrance) and the first major tourist attraction in Branson. The Registered National Landmark officially opened for tours in 1894, and it has been inspiring awe in visitors ever since. On a tour of the caves, you'll descend almost 300 feet below ground, passing beautiful (and still-growing!) cave formations on your way to the Cathedral Room — the largest cave entrance room in the nation.
