Leave your Heart in San Francisco

94%
Found this guide helpful

San Francisco will steal your heart. There is something for everyone. My husband and I love walking the city and finding new favorites. We are in our 50's but enjoy all types of activities. With season tickets to the Giants, we get to spend a lot of time in the city. Would love to share what we have grown to love!

JeriLG's City Tips

  • Book Alcatraz asap. Can fill up three months in advance.
  • Parking is expensive! Plan on staying put if you have a place and taking taxi's or lyft to get around if you are unable to walk.
  • Wear layers of clothes for changes in weather. San Francisco can be cold and foggy even in summer. "The coldest winter I spent was my summer in San Francisco." Mark Twain.
  • If you are wanting a specific restaurant, it is best to get reservations right away. While it is a large city, many fill up quickly.

This is not on the tourist route. Steps down or up with fantastic views of Alcatraz and the Palace of Fine Arts. Immigrant Heart in the middle of a garden in front of Dianne Feinstein's home. Borders the beautiful Presidio. Highly recommend walking a bit here.
