Lives in London
Since Aug. 2007
Hi. I’m Chris, an American freelance creative living in London. I keep busy working as a blogger, photojournalist, community manager, consultant, curator and more. The opportunities and challenges keep getting bigger, better and more meaningful for me every year! I’m having so much fun. Favorite destinations are many and my list of must-see places to visit seems to get longer the more I travel! I’m a huge fan of Lisbon, Istanbul and Queenstown – to name but a few preferred repeat locations. I also love heading back to the States every chance I find and cannot get enough of the Deep South – Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and the Carolinas – and Hawaii holds a particularly special place in my heart as well. And even though I’ve been based in London for years, it and the whole of Britain still yield myriad wonders for me.

Among the many Frenchmen Street bars and venues featuring performances is the Apple Barrel, where there's live jazz and blues every night of the week. Expect a friendly local crowd, cheap drinks, and amazing acoustics.
To hear smoking hot live jazz performed by some of the world’s greatest living musicians, head to the only musician-owned live music venue in New Orleans! (The fact that the owner is Grammy and Billboard Award-winning Irvin Mayfield should by all means sway you if you're on the fence about catching a show at his Jazz Playhouse.)
For rump shakin’ live music done right, head to the Maple Leaf, an uptown bar that’s popular with the university students and famous for its line up of funk, jazz, blues, and rock.
If you could only visit one music venue in Louisiana, this historic music hall set in the French Quarter would need to be at the top of your list. The music here is classic Dixieland played by some of the best musicians in town. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!
With NOLA musical royalty such as the Neville and Marsalis families having been known to perform here, this institution still packs 'em in and wows 'em, too, with its delectable menu and roster of exceptional performances.
A Frenchmen Street favorite and one of the most fun bars in New Orleans, the Spotted Cat is a friendly place where locals of all sorts and out-of-towners from all over join together to have a good time listening to great music.
