I obviously do not understand the rating in France. This place scores a mere 2 stars and yet was at least equal if not better than the 3 and 4 star establishments visited this month. The room was large, clean and comfortable. I do like a separate toilet from the bathroom. Perhaps the lack of an elevator to the first floor is the only significant negative in this modern hotel. We can survive without English speaking television! The location is ideal being close to the station and main area of town. The reception staff could not have been more helpful in organising tours and answering questions - far better than the local tourist office!

A Really funky little hotel right in the centre of beautiful Saint Gilles. The reception, Dining and bar area is well appointed with at the front of the hotel facing out onto the pedestrianized main shopping street with public parking opposite, out of season this is fine from between 5pm and 9am but could be a problem in high season. So for 5 € you can park in the private car park that is situated behind the hotel, access by the main road facing the port / harbour. The restaurant serves a very nice continental breakfast between 8am and 10am, didn't use the bar as we walked to the main area for restaurants and bars which is a nice 10 minute stroll to the other side of the River Vie over the main bridge.
Our room was an adjoining suite which was spaces , again with the interesting pink funky décor, a lovely queen sized bed, very comfortable and a nice spacious 'wet room' shower and separate toilet.
overall a very nice convenient hotel in a perfect location... highly recommended.

We stayed at La Ceitya, in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie for 5 nights over the august bank holiday weekend 2011.

It's a really trendy hotel, the rooms are good size with separate shower room & toilet, brightly decorated rooms with fantastic electronic black out shutters - to keep the heat & light out so you get a great sleep in a comfy bed and nothing to disturb you.

The rooms are on a quiet side street and the front entrance is opposite a pretty church, at the beginning of the main high street.

There's a bar to the front of the hotel where you can enjoy a drink on the terrace and people watch or grab drinks for your room (have great coffees served here).

You can park fro free in the hotel car park to the rear, its easily accessible.

The staff were lovely, they allowed you to speak French and helped out in English if you really struggled.

We booked to stay here as our family were staying at Les Pas Opton, in Le Fenouiller about 10 minutes drive from Saint Gilles, a great location to be in the town and we were not too far from the family.

Theres plenty to see in Saint Gilles, there are markets held on either side of the river n the morning, with wine stands to taste before you buy and a larger market in the church car park.

We had a great stay here and visited the wine caves to load up the car with local drinks.

Theres a 'Super U' a few mins drive away, your usual super market again with cheerfully cheap local wines and beers.

We paid £60 a night to stay here and it was well worth it!
