I cannot speak highly enough about this accommodation, The villa is of a very high standard and at no point do you feel restrained as you would do in a hotel or a B&B. The owners Jose and Patricia are two of the nicest people you could meet and nothing is too much for them to ensure that you feel at home. They have two waiting staff to assist with the breakfasts and cleaning and that is the only time that you will be reminded that you are not in your own home. The lounge, the kitchen, the grounds and of course, your room are all yours to relax and feel comfortable.
When I booked our short break to Lisbon (to see a concert), I was slightly disillusioned with what we were likely to get as accommodation to fit our budget but quickly realised that this accommodation is a 2 minute walk to the train station and then a quick 20 minute journey into central Lisbon - it was really that easy and the added bonus was that we were then located within 10 minutes of three huge beaches! This really is an excellent base and at a very reasonable rate per night.
The breakfasts were buffet style as you would expect on the continent, but served to you on the outside patio and it was plentiful and enjoyable. Another nice touch is that Jose stocks up a fridge as a "trust" bar with wine, soft drinks and beers for you to help yourself and drop the money into the trust box.at any time - something we chose to do on several occasions! All in all, a really nice place to stay with a very relaxed small town to explore and enjoy. We will definitely be going back and I'm so pleased that we can only agree with all of the other comments about this accommodation.
We loved this beautiful place. It is literally like returning to see old friends. You use the house as if it was your own. Our room was wonderful, they kindly upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge, and the decor was stunning. It is very clean and the owners, Jose and Patricia, were super welcoming and really helpful. We are going back again in a few weeks time!
Location location location .....3 min walk to the promenade/beach, 2min to train and bus what more could you ask for!!
Jose and Patrice,s guesthouse at live in Oirea's is much more than a guesthouse, it has all the qualities of a four star hotel with a personal tour guide.Your bedroom is cleaned every day with a change of towels. We got excellent advice where to visit and where to eat. This has to be our best ever holiday experience, Oirea's is a beautiful place not overly commercialised compared to it's neighbour Cascais I would definitely recommend live in Oireas to anyone looking for a top class holiday in a top class Guest house. A very big thanks to Jose and Patrice for a great holiday we will definitely be back.We have stayed in many hotels but none have lived up to this experience +++++++++ stars
We stayed in the Live in Oeiras guesthouse for five days. From the first moment we felt like being at home.
The guesthouse is located between Lisbon and Cascais. It’s easy to travel by train to Lisbon (20 minutes journey) to visit the city and its surroundings. If you travel to Cascais you can either visit the beautiful village and the beach or travel by bus to Sintra (World Heritage Site). Oeiras itself is a nice cosy place with a nice long sandy beach and many nice local restaurants where you can eat delicious affordable dishes. The crystal clear water was even in October warm enough for a nice swim.
The hosts of the guesthouse, Patricia and Jose, were really friendly and helpful. They explained us every morning, during the delicious complimentary breakfast, what’s worth to see and how to get there. In the evening they gave us tips where to go out for dinner. The suite was a great choice with ensuite bathroom and a nice terrace with sunbeds to relax. The room and the whole house was very clean and nicely decorated.
If you are looking for a nice and relaxing stay with great hosts near Lisbon this is the place to stay.
Thank you very much Patricia and Jose
This was a great outcome for our group of four, who were looking for a bit of peace and quiet for our stay in Lisbon. Oeiras is only 20 minutes by train to downtown Lisbon, but a totally different experience.
The guesthouse is comfortable with everything you need and enough space to avoid the few other guests that can be accommodated. Our room had been recently renovated and we had a separate lounge, bedroom and bathroom, all nicely decorated and spacious. Each morning we were treated to a great selection of breakfast options and in the evenings we could grab a beer or wine from the honesty fridge. The stay was made the more enjoyable due to the attention of the hosts, Patricia and Jose, their knowledge of the area and their desire to make our stay memorable.
Oeiras itself has a beachfront on the rivermouth but is also within walking distance of Estoril beach on the Atlantic coast. We were here at the very start of summer, the weather was high 20s, the days sunny and the water warm enough to swim, and the sea crystal clear. A great way to take it easy after the hustle and bustle of the big cities.
The train service into LIsbon is frequent, so it is easy to go downtown for a day or a half-day, then return to Oeiras for an evening meal. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. So, if like us, you have a holiday taking in major cities like Madrid, Lisbon and Barcelona, then this is one way of getting a break without detouring.
