Yes, it has hot water. Pressure is a tad low. Clean place, but do not plan to pay with a credit card, as they are not set up to accept cards unless you used a credit card to guarantee the room. Then they will defer to that payment.. Price is OK. They advertise free parking. Yes, that is kind of true, as the parking is in front on the city street if you can get it. The area is a dimly lit side street. Beds are fine. Do not expect a Holiday Inn or even a Motel 6. This is pretty much your entry level place. Good folks., There are a few places to eat up and down Main street. You will appreciate US Hotels afterward, but there were no pests or dirt. Would we stay here again? Welllll.... maybe after looking around more.
My family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms at the Posada Malix Pek recently on our way through to Mahahual. It was a little hard to find and not in the best looking neighborhood. I was concerned when we pulled up to the place at night, but I was pleasantly surprised when we entered the room. Very clean and recently updated rooms. Nice, comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms with great showers. It was all we needed for 1 night. I will say that the staff is not very friendly, but the man on duty did help with our luggage. The location is convenient for walking to restaurants and shops. We were able to pay with a credit card the morning of check out. I would stay here again if I needed a place in Tulum for a short stay!
A great place to stay in town- wonderful food (think tacos tacos tacos) right on the corner. Room was large and comfortable. It was the perfect home base for our Tulum trip. Lots of places to rent bikes nearby and just a 20min bike ride to a beautiful, perfect, not crowded public beach.
I stayed two nights. I arrived really late in a thunderstorm and my mood suited it after a full days travel and one substandard hotel I had to walk out of. This lovely, clean, bright, modern and traditional posada saved me from a dreadful day!
I was grumpy and exhausted, fearing the worst after my last hotel misery. First, the guy in reception came outside to look out for me and show Mr where the posada was after I messaged him for directions. This Impressed me. He was friendly and nice even though I was in an awful mood for which I am sorry. He took me to my room upstairs , I can't remember the number, but it faced the roof top area. When he opened the door and I stepped inside I was delighted to see a spacious, clean, modern room with a gorgeous, traditional wooden bed and a big chunky mattress with soft, clean, white bed linen and white towels. The room was so welcoming and cosy I couldn't wait to have a warm shower and hop into the lovely bed, and that is what every hotel room in the world should make a guest feel! The bathroom was modern with lovely beige tiles and a white suite. The shower was a walk in, spacious with a small window. There was a flat screen t.v on a table which I prefer, I hate flat screens on the walls so far away you can hardly see them. This was I. Top a wooden t.v unit, to match the bed. Two bed side tables, lamps and a table with two chairs, plus loads of hanging and storage space in a fitted unit.
I slept so well, best nights sleep in weeks!
I don't think they offered breakfast but I am not sure. Anyway I had mine at a lovely cafe five mins walk along Chetumal ave. The posada is just off this road, it is the main road running through Tulum's main town and tourist area. The posada is five mins walk from ADO bus station. If you are looking for a lovely place to stay in Tulum on a budget, I doubt this little gem can be beaten! Amazing value! Loved it!
I stayed for four nights in April . I had a room on the second floor to the back and it was very quiet...The staff are welcoming and helpful. My room was missing a ceiling fan but it did have AC. I would have liked a fan and probably could have switched rooms. The rooms are new and very clean with great shower pressure and lots of hot water. There are refrigerators for use on each floor. Would probably stay again since the location is perfect for exploring Tulum.
