Our family stayed at the Blue Horizon after a Disney cruise to Alaska. After leaving Canada Place, we took at taxi to the hotel and were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was ready and that we could check in! Bonus! Our room had a lovely view, ample room for our family of four, and great amenities.
The hotel is within walking distance to Stanley Park, great shopping on Robson, and a shuttle to Capilano stops right in front of the hotel. We were able to take the Blue line from Capilano and walk to Granville Island (30 min walk) - the trip back to the hotel is on the Red line. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the pool and my husband enjoyed the sauna. The jacuzzi was a great place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing.
There are a few markets nearby if you want to buy snacks or water bottles for the room fridge. There is also a Whole Foods and Safeway within walking distance.
The staff at Blue Horizon was great, friendly, and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to families!

We (self, spouse, teenager) shared a superior, two queen size beds, room in July arriving on Canada Day (July 1). The room was spacious and very clean. We did not feel crowded after six nights. The views were good. The higher up the room, the better the view. Also, you may want to select the side of the building so that you have a view of Stanley Park and the water. We were on the 24th floor, and we did not really hear noise while sleeping with open windows. The room had a small fridge so you could store some things, but no microwave. We had no problem connecting to the internet from our room. The workout facilitiies were really nothing. I swam laps in the pool one day, but it is very small. There is also a hot tub and sauna.

The hotel has a decent breakfast at a reasonable price. The location is such that you can walk everywhere. The only time we used public transportation was to go to Lynn Canyon and the airport. We found we could go everywhere on foot and enjoyed it. We walked the entire Stanley Park as well as to Yaletown several times to catch some of the jazz festival.

The staff was friendly and courteous. They were able to give us an early check-in as we arrived early in the morning.

We booked the Blue Horizon from July 5th thru the 9th. The room was a Superior King water view on the upper floors. We had a room on the 28th floor with a beautiful view of the bay. Windows on two sides of the room and a nice sized balcony. Overall the room was nice, maybe a bit small, but nice to come home to after a day in the city or touring other areas. The location is fantastic right on Robson with lots of shops, restaurants, and storefronts. This is a boutique style hotel with a small fitness area and pool but worked for us very well. Parking at the hotel was also affordable at about $24 CAD per day. We also enjoyed the Cafe on the 1st floor for breakfast. We totally enjoyed the Blue Horizon...

Our family of four stayed two nights before heading to Whistler for a ski trip. Wanted a centrally located spot to be within walking distance to downtown sightseeing and local restaurants. Our room had 2 queen beds and an extra seating area with a nice chair, refrigerator and space to spread out. Front desk staff was helpful and courteous. Hotel pool was small, but clean and was good enough for some fun. We enjoyed breakfast at the attached restaurant, Adobe. We'll stay here again when back in Vancouver!

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights prior to a cruise to Alaska at the Blue Horizon. Our room was located on the 10th floor with a wonderful view of the city, especially at night with the lights. We could see a bit of the inner harbor and Grouse Mtn. The room was huge, spotless, nicely decorated and as all rooms are corner rooms, it had large windows on two sides. While out on the balcony we noticed the outside of the hotel is covered in tiny mosaic tiles of various blue shades, really a work of art. There is a small but pleasant indoor pool and Spa along with a few exercise machines. Although we did not eat in the restaurant in the hotel,we had breakfast both days in a little place just across the street . We were able to walk easily to Stanley Park,Canada Place ,English Bay,False Creek and catch a ferry over to Granville Island. So, the Blue Horizon is in a great spot. We also caught the fast train in from the airport to the City Centre station and walked to the hotel, about a 10 minute walk. If we find ourselves in Vancouver again we would definitely stay in the Blue Horizon. We had stayed there some 26 years ago and I always wanted to return to the hotel.
