Stayed here for 3 nights (Labour Day weekend):
Positives:
-staff are very friendly; especially Housekeeping
-Clean, comfortable room ( although lacking a few basics, no doubt due to Covid)
-Central location, easy to walk anywhere.
-Beds are quite comfortable.

Negatives:
- 1 of the 2 elevators not working (& based on previous reviews, sounds like it's been MIA for the past 6 months). Hard to maintain social distancing when there's only 1 elevator working, Are the elevator technicians on strike?? This should be fixed asap.
-No notice given to guests that they had to ask for Housekeeping to refresh the room. At the very least, this should be communicated upon Check-In.
-Parking was absurdly expensive. $28.75 ! Per night. $28.75 !

Peter Q, thanks for taking time to review the property. We do appreciate this feedback. The elevator has been OOO for just under 2 weeks now. Unfortunately do to the age of the elevator it requires the part to be rebuilt in Texas. So with everything that is going on, it is taking much longer than usual. It will be back up and running by the weekend I am told. It is very frustrating. Reception is suppose to advise you of all the ins and outs of your stay including room servicing. Sounds like this was missed. Again we are truly sorry. Great to hear you enjoyed the clean rooms, great location and friendly staff. This is what we pride ourselves on for sure. With hospitality, Dave

The rooms are not bad for this price range and the location is very central to any place you would want to walk to in downtown Halifax. However, there were several annoyances /disappointments about this hotel. Approx. half of the rooms face an 4-walled, open air courtyard that has been turned into a sports bar. The rooms are not soundproofed so you have no choice but to listen to the loud noise from the bar until at least 11::30pm. There was only 1 of 2 elevators working, With social distancing very awkward when there is only one working elevator, many guests chose to use the stairs. Thankfully is it only a 6 story hotel. There are no glasses in the rooms (you have to request them), and overall the rooms seem underequipped. Guests can't expect everything ng to be normal in the times of Covid, but you should be able to expect a quite room that you can get to safely. If you do stay at this hotel, ask for a room facing the water. Hopefully it is quieter.

Mobey we are very sorry for this negative experience. The Courtyard patio beer garden is something we had to try this year to help our local restaurant. There has been some balancing to ensure it's not too loud for guests. While most nights it has not been an issue this weekend proved different. We will address this with the owners to ensure noise is better managed on a go forward. For the in rooms cups you are correct we had these all removed do to covid. We are beginning to re introduce coffee stations, and cups to the rooms in the next few weeks. Just need to ensure it is the correct setup and all per-wrapped. It has been challenging to find. Again, we are truly sorry for this experience. It is not the levels of service we are known for or capable of providing. With hospitality, Dave

The location of this hotel is very convenient, located downtown within walking distance to many restaurants and the waterfront. The attached Niche Lounge has great food and great atmosphere. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff at this hotel are amazing! They are all so nice and so helpful! We will definitely be back!

Spacious and beautiful clean room overlooking the courtyard. Could hear a bit of hallway door shutting noise but nothing between rooms like TV or voices could be heard. Mini-fridge is convenient but no microwave in the room (you can use one in the common area). The bathtub was so nice and long and great for soaking in after a long day. Very nice comfortable king bed and pillows were perfect which can be rare in a hotel. Huge TV with cable for entertainment and comfortable chair with footstool.

The real highlight here is the amazing staff. Every single one of them were so friendly and helpful no matter how early in the morning it was or what the request was.

If you’re not much of a gym goer, you won’t be concerned about the tiny gym space. I would suggest that more than three people and it will start to feel “crowded”.

Room was great and room amenities were nothing to complain of, however there was construction happening within the space adjacent to the hotel... I think I finally had the labyrinth figured out on my third and final day. Also, one of the two elevators was out of order the entire time we were there. The hotel was booked with multiple events happening in the city, so just taking the elevator easily meant an additional 15 minutes factored into your day.

Really the construction and elevator issues are temporary concerns and shouldn’t detract from the pleasant room. Hopefully both are now resolved.

Yes they have tea in room and a buisness center downstairs, they also have room safes but id call before to ask, and i recommand maritime bus shuttle service or halifax metro which is 2.75 and takes u directly downtown on barrington runs every half hour. Compared to maritime bus that stops at the westin but is 40 dollars one way.
