Write a reviewOverall, an amazing hotel. The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. There were some small things with our room cleanliness that kept me from giving it a 5 but nothing major and the location of the room was perfect, I was able to sit on the patio and relax and have a perfect view of my son and husband going on the waterslide.

After a negative experience at our Toronto hotel, we were pleased to find that the Lamplighter was very relaxing and enjoyable. Initially we were concerned as it has a pool area with the rooms arranged around it: we were in need of a relaxing stay but the pool area was crowded and noisy with children having fun. However, the manager automatically upgraded us to a suite facing away from the pool area, which was perceptive of him and much appreciated.
The breakfasts were very good, and the serving staff very friendly and efficient.
The hotel is on a strip with numerous options for shopping. It’s also very convenient for the hospital.
The hotel clearly caters to conferences and families and yet there were still options for exhausted travellers like us who just wanted to relax and recharge. Highly recommended.

Hi Madeleine, We are thrilled you had a relaxing and enjoyable stay with us at the Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn. While our atrium view rooms give our guests an amazing view of the indoor tropical area that surrounds our indoor pool, hot tub, waterslide and more, for our guests looking for a quieter room a non atrium view room would be the best option and I am glad staff suggested this. Shelly's Tap & Grill here on the property is a very popular restaurant in the area to both our guests staying with us and those from around the area looking for a restaurant with many great options to choose from. We are happy you enjoyed your experience. You are correct. The hotel is in a very well established area in London. We are surrounded by many great businesses, shopping centres and restaurants. Nothing is too far from the Lamplighter! The Lamplighter Inn caters to everyone whether it be corporate events, weddings, families, business travellers and more. Excellent service from the staff, very clean and comfortable room. The staff at this hotel were very accommodating from making the reservations to checking in and out. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be returning.

Great place for a quick family getaway. The pool was lots of fun. Very reasonable price (if staying on a weekday). The room could have done with a deep cleaning (walls, doors, high touch surfaces like light switches).

Love the pool. The slide was closed on the Sunday we went although they said it would be open but honestly, we were happy with the waterfall and hot tub!
Rooms were a bit loud at night because there are lots of kids in the hotel- we travelled with kids so not a problem for us, but could be disruptive for someone travelling without kids who doesn't appreciate their squeals and running through the halls, lol!
The arcade ate our money and when the staff was trying to help us, his manager (Kiran) stopped him and told us we could get our money back at checkout. The next day at checkout, he wasn't there and no one knew how he wanted it handled, so the employee from the day before just completed the cash refund he had tried to do the previous day. This was funny to me because if Kiran just let them do that the day before, we could have gone back to the arcade, used our coins and had a better stay. He really showed his cheapness in that moment. I get the feeling that this hotel cuts corners because of management.
The only bad thing that happened was that I sat on a rusty pin in the stuffed chair. I have my tetanus shot thank goodness and I am glad it wasn't one of my kids. However, this is an example to me of the hotel management not letting their cleaning staff the proper amount of time to clean the room!
All the front facing staff we met (cleaning front desk, pool) were so kind and helpful, I want to be clear that the issues we had were from management. Kiran really put a bad taste in our mouths for the whole stay- give him some training in customer experiences!

Hi Excursion42727239381, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are pleased while at the Lamplighter Inn you enjoyed your time in the pool but apologize you were not aware in advance of arrival of the waterslide hours. Currently the pool is open every day during the week. It opens at 8am daily and closes at 10pm Sunday - Thursday with Friday & Saturday closing at 11pm. The waterslide is currently open Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday morning. We hope to soon have the slide operational throughout the week and will update our website when this happens. My apologies for your encounter with Management and can understand your frustration in not having the lost money refunded that same night. I will review with Management their money return policy and look for ways to improve the process. Thank you for sharing this. My apologies as well you sat on a pin that was left in the stuffed chair. I will advise our Executive Housekeeper so she is aware and can review the cleaning procedures with her team. Sure it would be no problem, just call hotel for more info and also would be best to book a room or two; they have rooms overlooking pool and atrium, it is a real tropical setting, the kids would really love it, esp the water slide.

I'm not sure about using the pool before check in but you can use the pool until 12 (check out at 11) and the changing facilities near the pool.

We do have family suites. A family suite consists of 2 Queen Beds and a separate living room with 1 Queen Pullout couch non atrium view. These rooms can be reserved by calling the hotel direct or online through Best Western
