Arrived late evening, Claire checked us in. Efficient but not overly friendly. We were in room 53, seemed far away from reception. We were above the pub and it was very noisy. We popped down to the pub to get a drink and everyone was very drunk and swaying.was very busy with drinkers. Not a family restaurant on a bank holiday! Room was very noisy, could hear kids running up and down in the room next door. Creaky floors and stairs right outside the door. Didn't get much sleep. Nice clean room tho. Wouldn't stay again and certainly not use the restaurant!

We were so impressed with the way everything was set up in the hotel in relation to the COVID 19 situation. We were apprehensive beforehand about staying somewhere. The room was spotless and check in staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the breakfast experience was not good. We stood around in our masks for ages upon entering so finally just found a table and sat down to then be told we should of waited. The most worrying aspect was that none of the servers had any sort of mask or face covering on which I thought all eateries had to abide by. The hotel asks everyone to wear a mask while in the hotel. Our server did not explain the breakfast routine, we sat for ages with empty cups until we asked and were finally told to use the machine. The food was ok but the server made us feel like we were putting him out and never checked to see if everything was ok. We left and were ignored. The highlight was as we were leaving the cleaner stopped and said hello and asked how we were and we had a lovely chat.. she should be working in the restaurant! Once home I couldn’t help worrying about the lack of safety with the servers carrying our food and serving us without any masks.

We booked a room here for 5 nights to visit family in the area (thought it might be safer with COVID etc). We checked in on the Wednesday and were due to check out on Monday.
Upon checkin the first thing we noticed was the heat of the hotel. It was not built for the heat wave, and it really shows both in the checkin area and in the rooms.
Our room, luckily, had a fan, but no aircon. I can forgive the lack of aircon considering this is the UK, but it did lead to uncomfortable nights and it was rather impossible to sleep in. Especially with the noise of the fan and the lack of a fridge to keep any cold drinks (although the hotel will happily supply you refrigerated water at £2 a bottle!).
The bathroom had no working extractor fan; so the heat of the shower would quickly make the entire hotel room even more humid and warm.
Additionally, you will hear your neighbours. The floorboards are terrible and you can clearly hear any movement from upstairs.
No iron and lack of clothes hangers which was odd.

On the Saturday night, noise from the nearby residential area (some sort of rave/music) engulfed the entire hotel and made sleeping in the room impossible. Upon letting the staff know, they informed us it was 'company policy' that they couldn't call the police.
The noise eventually stopped, later that night our neighbour in the hotel woke us up having a party at around 1am. I let front desk know and this seemed to sort the issue for around 10 minutes, then they started again. Ultimately we didn't sleep until around 2:30am.

Based on our bad experience, we ended up just cutting our losses and checking out on the Sunday and staying with family. This was a really terrible experience and it has put me off the Premier Inn chain and related companies for good.

My wife and I just stayed one night. The weather was lovely and warm, sadly no air con. The room was far too hot, even with windows open, no method of cooling down. The bathroom was smaller than normal and the sound insulation was poor. We could hear people above us well into the night and not the normal Premier Inn standard.
The room itself was as you’d expect and the bed was comfy

Perfect location for local attractions. Knowsley Safari Park just over 10 minutes away and Albert Docks - Restaurants and Museums just 20 minutes away.

Roby train station just 5 minutes walk to the right of the exit of the hotel and a Bowring Park Golf Course just 3 minutes walk to the left of the exit of the hotel

Large size family room. Given the current COVID-19 situation, staff are always on hand for any assistance required.

Free parking and Derby Lodge restaurant literally 2 doors(next door) for Breakfast, Lunch and Evening meal or just chill out by the bar or relax in the large garden.

Highly Recommend.
