My winter “get-a-way” landed me in Canmore Alberta, this was my first trip to the area, about an hour and, a bit drive from Calgary. Approaching Canmore as we got closer to the foothills of the gigantic mountains it was just breath taking to see the snow-covered mountain tops, and the tree lines that run alongside them and up them as well. We stayed at one of the many condo resorts, in the Harvie Heights district, the condominium was two floors with a balcony that gave us a beautiful view of the Rockies “ a spectacular sight in the morning” also a back patio with chairs to leisure around outside, a warming fireplace, and equipped with all the appliances, and furniture’s as if you never left your own place. I felt at home in this setting and, safe environment, I really liked that you had to key in a password to enter the condominium as opposed to a card reader. Additionally, there was a great family package that came with our stay, which allowed us to use the local recreational facilities such as swimming rock climbing and snow sledding, exercise room, and many more. Centre town is where you can find all the amenities one needs, the surrounding area is load with bike trails, walking and hiking trails, as well as a helicopter service that you can take which fly’s over the entire area, giving you a broader birds eye view of everything. I recommend the Grizzly Paw, and The Wood restaurants, top notch in my standards and great! Food, the people in town are generally friendly, and are understanding, even throughout this global pandemic, they also have great group packages, so if you plan on coming with friends you will be saving! I personally will pick this place over Banff “all day, every day”, Happy Trails and I hope you experience this for yourselves .

Location is beautiful!!!! The mountains are right outside your door! Cabin #2 is very rustic and a little short on space. It was cold in the small kitchenette and bedroom. The bathroom was very dated and no space to put your toiletries. Unfortunately we were unable to stay the entire time we had booked for because it was cold and after one person had a shower we ran out of hot water. Ryan the manager was amazing and so accommodating and offered a full refund for the days we would not be staying.

The Chalet was rustic - a genuine cozy log cabin. You could smell the rustic character the moment you opened the door, likely because of the generous wood burning stove in the living room. But it never smelled musty, damp or dirty.
The bedding was crisp and clean. The bed slept great. We were very impressed.
With a functional kitchenette it was easy to make a hearty brunch the next morning and step outside to a fabulous view of the mountains.
We arrive late - after the office had closed at 7pm. But we got a friendly call a few minutes before 7pm assuring us that the keys would be available at a designated place. The chalet was ready. Everything was taken care of. Just outside the door was a little pile of freshly cut firewood - even finely cut kindling was prepared.

We enjoyed our stay, and would certainly recommend others to enjoy this place.

Our family of four stayed for five nights.
There appeared to be no regular cleaning/service for a stay of this length. We had to request fresh towels and garbage removal. No staff on-site was the rule rather than the exception. One phone message left on the manager's number gained no results, but when caught on site, the staff was friendly and helpful. We were disappointed in the level of service. $199/night seemed high.
The cabin we stayed in seemed in need of a good top-to-bottom cleaning. Washroom reasonably clean though walls were dirty. Kitchen not clean - we had to clean microwave and fridge ourselves. Kitchen poorly equipped - unusable (chipped surface) teflon frying pan and badly warped cutting board. Log cabin interior is very dark and needs dusting.
Bedrooms are cramped. Sheets did not fit bed properly. Evidence of mice in cabin, though none of our food was eaten by mice. Lots of traffic noise.
There is a central area with picnic tables for eating outdoors. BBQ was functional though had to be lit manually.
These cabins have potential but seem to be poorly maintained and cleaned. If you're tempted to stay, make sure you have a good look in the cabin first. They also have chalets.

My family stayed for 4 nights. The place was decent for a small family which accomodated enough room for all. This log cabin has a great appeal. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and Christmas card from Janine and Ryan. We went skiing for 2 days so we opted on getting the cabin cleaned as we kept it tidied the entire stay. Cooking was good as long as your came prepared with your own ingredients and meal plans. The wood burning fireplace put a Christmasy touch to our own brought-in fresh tree we decorated. It even accomodated our dog which was a bonus. Other than that, we can't complain about our stay except the carpet is not the greater shape which is understandable considering it's a great place for people to stay for skiing and mini get-away. We are already talking about coming back for the summer when we go hiking. Thanks Janice and Ryan!
