Let me say that the rating I am giving this hotel is NOT a representation of the hotel room that I stayed in. Our room had two double queens, a fireplace, microwave and a fridge. The room is really big and has a nice lcd tv. The morning breakfast was excellent with lots of hot and cold food items to choose from, top notch work on the breakfast.

We booked this hotel as a final stop on our way home from the coast because it had a pool and water slide. My children were excited that they got to go watersliding when we got to the hotel after a long drive. When we checked in there were in fact people in the pool and using the water slide. After dinner we headed down to the pool area, and much to our dismay it was closed for maintance. So I called the front desk at 6pm to ask what was going on with the pool. The front desk person said she didn't know but the maintance people were working on it and should be done in a few hours around 6pm. I then asked that since it was 6pm is the pool ready. She said she would check with maintance. At 6:15 my wife went to the front desk to ask about the pool, still no word on if it is ready, again we were told she was looking into it. At 6:30pm another couple joined us in the pool area and we told them the story so far. At 6:45 the couple that joined us went to ask if the pool was going to open and was told that the maintance people were working on it. As he came back into the pool area we saw two maintenance guys walk out of the hotel and proceed to smoke for 15 minutes. At 7pm we were informed that the pool would not be ready until maybe the next day. As we had booked this hotel for the pool area it really made me mad that nothing was done to fix whatever issues there were. I wasted my points booking this hotel and I will never stay here again. The hotel did not care about us at all.

MrFat187, While we are happy you were satisfied with the quality of your guest room, we greatly apologize for the inconvenience of the pool closure during your stay. At times maintenance is required to maintain a safe and clean experience for guests using the pool. It is very rare that the pool gets closed for an extended period of time, during which would be regular usage hours. Unfortunately that day we changed all the windows in the pool area, which took longer than we anticipated. We hope that you do come back as your patronage is sincerely important to us. Thank-you for staying with us regardless, and we hope we can make it up to you in the future.

A gas fire in your room, a proper quilt and an airy, light room. The stuff of dreams? No. The stuff of $150+ rooms.

These (OK - maybe not on-demand gas fires) should be standard for BW PLUS hotels and here, they are.

Other than breakfast there are no dining facilities but there are restaurants and fast food joints within walking distance (e.g. MacDs for my wife and me tonight!).

Lazy day for us coming up tomorrow but this hotel can cope with this; it is not claustrophobic in that regard. Other BW hotels cannot claim such.

Would heartily recommend this hotel.

We just wanted a weekend get away. I quickly booked on line knowing that Canmore is a popular place. When we arrived on Saturday (as we had planned), and presented our reservation number they told us that was for the night before. I accidentally booked the wrong day and never read the confirmation. The desk staff immediately said "no problem, we'll make it work", and they did! We got a lovely room with no hassle and just as much customer care as if I hadn't done something wrong. So clean, comfortable beds, quiet and a Great breakfast!

Questions & answers about the rooms

Answer from Amanda E

There are designated rooms for pets, and you need to book one of these. They are quite convenient for pet owners actually, the room we had was near an exit for letting dogs out and also in the hallway (not sure if deliberate or not) near a vent which created a low level of white noise which was actually appreciated as we had a dog that might have barked more if he'd been hearing footsteps, etc.
