Very nice place to stay & would stay there again. Friendly staff and enjoyed my stay. Clean and comfortable rooms. Would definitely recommend to family or friends. The hot breakfast was a definite plus! I did not use the swimming pool or their Fitness Centre, but it was nice that both were available.

Needed a place while my daughter and I explored the majesty of the Rockies. This hotel was clean, comfortable, has a breakfast included and easy access to the 1A & TransCanada Hwy. She is 7 and of course loved the pool! It was the perfect accommodation for our trip!

We stayed at the Pocaterra Inn for three nights recently after my wife attended a conference in the area. We're well-versed with Canmore - we used to have family living in town and our first visit dates back 30 years ago.
We had not stayed at the Best Western Plus Pocaterra Inn before, instead opting for a downtown hotel that was showing its age the last time we visited a few years ago. We were very pleasantly surprised with many aspects of the hotel. We had a very nice breakfast, with omelets, bacon or sausage, a selection of juices, cereals and pastries. The staff were very helpful with area information and giving suggestions for local restaurants and meeting our particular needs, like giving us caffeine coffee pods for the room instead of decaf. When we checked out we left behind a couple of paperback books we'd finished reading - when we got home the hotel had called and asked if we'd forgotten them in the room.
Our room - #224 was a large part of what made it special for us. Located at the end of the hall, foot traffic going by was reduced. The room was nicely furnished with a bit of an Alberta western flair, with hardwood floors, artwork showing local wildlife, big screen TV, fridge, coffee maker, balcony (I think all the second-floor rooms have balconies) and a gas fireplace. The fireplace and balcony were great plusses for us and one day we went down the street to a local bakery where we picked up cheese, cold cuts, a loaf of French bread and had a picnic of sorts (French style) on the balcony looking out at the beautiful Rockies.
We would give this five-out-of-five but for a few issues, none of which would prevent us from visiting again: the rooms were not as sound-proof as we'd like and when someone in the room above drops something on the hardwood floor you hear it, and on Sunday night the indoor pool and waterside closed at 8:00 instead of 10 like the other nights.
Still, we had a wonderful time and would recommend the hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights over the Remembrance day long weekend 2014. My wife and I shared a king sized bed room on the fourth floor. It was very comfortable. It had a nice little balcony outside and a gas fireplace in the room. One thing I will say, is that the bed was a little on the firm side. Not quite to my liking, but not a deal breaker. They have a very nice pool/hot tub area, complete with a sauna and steam room. I'm not sure if breakfast is included with every stay, but it was with ours and was very satisfying. All and all, I would say it is well worth the money and I would stay here again for sure.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms looked to be a little larger and looked to all have some sort of balcony.

We stayed at the Pocaterra for two nights over the Labour Day long-weekend. I had booked online, and was originally a little disappointed that the lower priced room that I wanted wasn't available. However, the third floor room that we ended up with was huge, with two queen beds and a sofa-bed, fireplace, table with two chairs, a good sized flat screen TV, frig, microwave, and a Keurig coffee maker. Nice sized bathroom (one sink), lots of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Strangely there was no fan in the bathroom! We were right across from the elevator, which I thought might be rather noisy - it was fine.
Breakfast was fine, with lots of selection. There were individual cheese omelettes, sausages, pancakes and french toast on the hot side, along with bread, bagels and english muffins to toast. Also muffins (regular and mini), cereal, instant oatmeal, yogurt, fruit salad (only one day), and hard boiled eggs. Juice, Stash Tea and decent coffee to round out the selection. It was busy, but the attendants were doing there best to refill the empty trays as things were eaten. There were also warm chocolate cookies available in the afternoon - yum!!!
We didn't use the pool, but saw lots of kids walking around in bathing suits and towels. Check in and out were easy (the hotel was full), and all the staff we interacted with were friendly and polite. I hadn't realialized how badly the Canmore area had been affected by the spring flooding. There are lots of road repairs and renovations going on in the area, and you can see where some of the hiking trails and bridges have been washed out. Still, it was a beautiful drive up to the Kananaskis Lakes!
