Went to Bella Coola on a whim. Arrived in the evening with no hotel reservation and stumbled on the Eagle Lodge, which, lucky for us, had a room available. In the morning, we decided to stay another night. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast that is included is adequate but if you want you can order a full breakfast for additional cost. The second night we opted to have dinner. Jennifer, one of the proprietors, is also the chef. There are a limited choice on the menu and all looked good, but we ordered bangers and mash and she made this standard pub fare into a gourmet delight. I added the potato and leek soup and it was outstanding. James and Jennifer, the owners, are very nice folks. They just took over the lodge last July and are getting their feet on the ground, but you would never know that they are new at running a hotel. This is a lodge, but really had more of the character of a bed and breakfast.

We stayed at Eagle Lodge for 4 days while exploring the beautiful Bella Coola Valley. Our room, JD's had 2 queen beds, ample space and a good bathroom. Their are 2 lounges in the lodge where guests can relax and extensive outside space with seating.
Self service breakfast was available all day, cereals, juice, pastries and a good coffee machine. We mostly went into Bella Coola town for a cooked breakfast but appreciated being able to go back to the lodge anytime during the day for coffee and a snack. The only restaurant for evening meals was the Bella Coola Valley Inn , in the town which was good.
The location of the lodge was ideal for us, beautiful mountain views, an easy drive to town for meals and for exploration of the rest of the valley. Great opportunities for wildlife viewing in the valley

Situated conveniently close to the town, ferry terminal and airport yet in the middle of nowhere at the same time. We had a large room over looking the back of the property, access to a terrace and the hot tub. Beautifully presented, all areas of the accommodation were spotless.
The continental breakfast featured baked scones and muffins. Sausage, bacon and hard boiled eggs were also provided. All excellent.

No tea and coffee facilities in the room, no problem as you could brew up in the breakfast room at any time of the day or night.

bbq and fridge space available if you wished to cook for yourself, we ate in town.

We arrived at the height of the 2018 wildfires. Smoke obscured the mountains initially but when it cleared, wow what a location.

My husband & I stayed 3 nights at Eagle Lodge and were very happy with the setting, our room, and the service from Terry & Tina. They made us feel welcomed and treated us as important guests. The lodge is more like a large house with a comfortable living room for the guests as well as a large dinning room area with a communal table. The help yourself breakfast area is well stocked which usually includes a homemade treat baked by Tina. You have access to this all day so if you want an afternoon tea or snack it is always available. The house is situated with a beautiful mountain backdrop which can be enjoyed in the wide open backyard property. We were in JD's room on the main floor which was spacious with 2 queen sized beds, a TV and a good sized bathroom. Although it faced the road the house is set way back and so was quiet. .

We did not have a vehicle when we arrived and Terry met us at the ferry as well as drove us to the ferry docks on the morning we were leaving. He even took us back to town that first evening to a restaurant for our dinner and made arrangements for someone from there to return us. This was most helpful otherwise would have been stranded without a meal. The lodge is located outside of the town of Bella Coola so you do need to have or rent a vehicle in order to get to town and to explore the surrounding are. Terry and Tina were always available to answer our questions and to make sure that all our needs were met. We felt very much at home and yet had our privacy. They are building an addition onto the house but we never heard any noise from the construction. Thank you Terry and Tina for making our stay at Eagle \lodge and Bella Coola so memorable.

Fantastic mountain scenery. Our room was very comfortable and the facilities at the lodge were very good. The outside seating was great for watching the wildlife. Breakfast was good and cafe on site was nice too.
