Stayed for one night and couldn’t fault anything. The room was huge and clean with lovely quirky decor and a massive comfy bed. Do agree with others that although the dark decor looks great it does make getting ready slightly difficult! The bathroom was also lovely, the shower was perfect and the L’occitane toiletries were a nice touch. Good distancing in place in the bar, and a one way system around the hotel plus hand sanitiser. Staff were friendly. Didn’t eat there so can’t comment on that. Great location and the NCP car park is just across the road, you get a reduced rate of £8 for 24 hours through the hotel. The only slight negative is that we paid extra for a balcony and unless you really plan on using it I don’t think it’s worth the extra money given the view is of the local police station! Wasn’t a big deal as it was quiet and we did enjoy sitting there when it was sunny (plus it was better lighting for applying make up!) I would recommend this hotel and will be looking at other HDVs for future UK trips.
After six months of sleeping in our own bed we decided that a night away would be a good idea. So glad that we chose the HdV in Stratford.
Great location, very comfortable room, delicious food and really helpful staff.
It was a real treat.
Thank you to all the staff who are doing a great job.
The NCP car Park is two minutes walk away and just fine for normal sized cars and good value with the hotel concession.
Our first time in a Hotel du vin and won’t be our last! Great covid 19 measures, one way systems, socially distanced tables and chairs, staff consistently cleaning. Rooms immaculate but not serviced daily which we were already aware of so didn’t mind. We had a great sized room and huge bed which was really comfortable. Great nights sleep as room so dark and hotel quiet. Only thing I struggled with in the room was lighting & mirrors to put on make up. Room decor is really dark and lights not direct to mirrors so did struggle a bit but wouldn’t mark the hotel down for something so small. Breakfast was a different than normal but made a pleasurable as possible by the staff. Still plenty of choice for continental along with freshly cooked food to order. Eggs Benedict were to die for.
We parked behind the hotel for £12 for 24hrs and had no problem getting a space as hotel has limited parking itself.
Great location within easy walk from the main town for all the sights Stratford has to offer! Thanks hotel du vin for an enjoyable stay.
Chosen from the plethora of hotels available because the website led me to believe I will have a great experience.
Arrived on time, reception was informative yet instructional after listening for a quarter of an hour to set instructions we eventually found our room.
Tired after a long journey we turned on the air-conditioning which sounded like a jackhammer, straight away I went to reception to inform - we were told this was normal and maybe we should turn off the bathroom fan - the fan was not the issue it was the air-conditioning - desperate to enjoy our weekend we left it to the reception staff to sort out our issue
On our return we had been allocated a new room with a smaller bed at the back of the hotel overlooking the car park not really the experience I expected for £165 per night
the decor was impeccable ultimately it felt like a premier in which had employed a fantastic interior designer. I queried the room size and was told that it was exactly the same as our previous one
I begged to differ! they offered to measure the bed to clarify that we were still having the same deal I believed we were not.
Three hours into our experience of checking in I was still debating with reception to make our stay special
it felt like a politicians argument - in the end I gave up negotiating. I set about enjoying the weekend in the beautiful Stratford upon Avon.
Arvin the manager was involved at a later date, after much patronising by reception staff we were refunded the difference for the size of the room but overall a very stressful experience and would certainly not choose to spend my hard earned money on such an ordinary experience
there are other hotels in Stratford and I would suggest seeking those out before you book this elaborate Premier style inn
Stayed here on a break to the area, booked a superior room, asked for twin beds, this was accommodated. Although the room is modern, I felt that the room was far to dark, especially as we were at the back of the building so hardly any natural light came into the room. Also, there is insufficient lighting in the room itself, wall mirror with just a spotlight above, which rendered it useless to see yourself in, they need to add a couple of floor lamps as dark walls and spotlights do not go! Bathroom was okay, good shower, few marks on the floor tiles, bedroom walls also had white marks where the paint had chipped probably due to items being banged against the walls, small but noticeable things which should be looked at, as the hotel is only a couple of years old, certain things are already beginning to look a bit tired. The hotel is around a 10 min walk from the station and is nicely located close to the local town. Staff were friendly, didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on the food but I would say, there are so many cafes, restaurants, coffee shops etc with the vicinity, you would be wise to eat out.
