Comfortable home in large garden, ample parking, guest lounge and dining room, good breakfast, very warm welcome, friendly and helpful, tea tray on arrival, well located for visiting Limerick or surrounding countryside.
We stayed at Avondoyle for 2 nights during our tour of West Ireland. Evelyn was an excellent hostess who works extremely hard to ensure all her guests are happy & catered for. Located approx. 15mins drive to the west of Limerick in a quiet rural location near Dooradoyle . There is ample onsite parking available. Our ensuite room was a good size with ample storage space. Our room was clean & comfortable affording a very peaceful nights sleep . Breakfast was served in the conservatory overlooking the well tended garden. The food was well cooked & presented & always included Evelyn's home baked cakes & bread. We would certainly recommend Avondoyle to family & friends & would stay there again if we visited Limerick.
A one night stop off with my two girls. Greeted on arrival with tea and apple crumble on the lawn - thank you very much. We had triple room on ground floor with bathroom across active corridor which I didn't expect. Probably a noisier room than others but kids slept through. Breakfast lovely, fresh baked scones and bread, hearty full irish with pancakes for kids. Our host works incredibly hard and has a B&B to be proud of. 10 mins to city centre.
Evelyn was a friendly host. Her home was neat and organized. Morning breakfast was fair. Room was slightly noisy. Limerick is an unattractive city. Dirty, noisy, and not much too do. This home isn't near any major city. Good for families and relaxing.
We stayed at B&B's all over Ireland during our trip and this was our favorite. The location is extremely convenient to get into town or to take day trips, but it's out far enough that you get to enjoy the beauty and quiet of the Irish landscape. Evelyn is a very considerate host, our room was fantastic and with a cooked to order breakfast each morning, the value is outstanding. If you are going through Limerick, you should absolutely stay at the Avondoyle.
