Very quiet in the forest, okay the ducks kept talking. Nice pool, just could be a little bit hotter to our taste, separate sauna area but the clothing rules where not very clear .
The meals are average, but a very friendly dog to welcome you very gentle
My wife wanted a little break, and so a few days Schwarzwald were in order. She wanted something including wellness offerings, I wanted something that wouldn't break our bank account. Hotel Langenwaldsee it was.
The hotel itself is charming, and the rooms were nice and clean. Alas, the free wireless (nor 3G for the matter) didn't reach our room. Not that it matters, we weren't there for that.
It is very nicely located close to hiking paths and the winter wonder world was perfect.
The wellness section is very nice, and offers everything one could desire. The pool looks a bit dated, but frankly, that's no problem.
We had a nice stay, the staff was friendly, the breakfast copious and all that for a reasonable amount. What's not to like?
Do eat at the restaurant. It is excellent. Since it was close to Valentines day, we had the Valentines special dinner and we weren't disappointed.
After enjoying the drive through the Black Forest, we arrived as this not very big hotel and surprise to find the excellent spa and pool facilities.
The lake "or big pool" provided very good and relaxing feel of the hotel and the swam and duck keep you enjoying it.
Rooms are with good size. Good breakfast.
Very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
A lovely hotel to rest, relax and revitalise after a very busy European holiday. The drive through the black forest to reach the hotel was exhilarating and highly recommended. We booked on the web to find our booking was not confirmed, however the manager was most helpful and managed to accommodate us for 6 days. We utilised the indoor pool, sun lounges, restaurant, breakfasts and took long walks in the forest. A must for anyone wanting luxury. We visited many local places and the hotel staff assisted our stay every day to enjoy the surrounding areas. Well worth the holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The drive to the hotel was fantasic going through small villages and winding around the moutains. We noticed on arrival that the hotel was busy as the car park was full but it never felt overcrowded or noisy. Our room was very clean and as a lake view we had a good sized balcony. It would have been perfect if grass has been cut on the flat roof but neverless a good view. I would NOTE here though that its NOT a lake and more a big pond! The pictures in my opinion are not a true reflection of the lakeside but this by no means affected our experience! The bed was incredibly comfortable and slippers/dressing gowns were a welcomed addition. Whilst we didnt use the pool and spa facilities they looked fine.
For dinner that night we ate in the restaurant and it was excellent........we recieved a complimentary starter and whilst there was a small language barrier the staff were helpful and friendly. The portion were large and all with fresh ingredients and VERY tasty.
The following morning we had a continental breakfast (wide variety of breakfast options available) and recieved a polite and sincere check out.
