Best terrace in Lithuania On 8th floor with a view to the sea, above the trees, perfect burgers and cocktails, shishas for smoking. Very nice swimming pool, restaurant, next to the sea, it was a very pleasure surprise to stay here. Thank you.

Gradiali appears on the outset to be a nice shiny new hotel, which it is. But first impressions mean everything to guests when booking into a hotel, especially if booking into a particular hotel for the first time. Now maybe I'm wrong. I consider myself very well travelled and have stayed in hotels all over Europe, North America, The Middle East, Far East and Africa so I can pretty much spot a good hotel or a bad one when I see them.

Lets get back on topic. The Gradiali hotel in Palanga. As I stated earlier first impressions are everything. The young lady that checked us in could not have been more miserable even if she tried and found her to be quite rude. It was almost akin to someone having their smile surgically removed and having it replaced by a permanent scowl. Perhaps she had a bad day but if you can't stand the heat! Get out of the kitchen. A checkin like that can quite easily change the mood of your holiday. Only a people person should be on any front desk.

Moving on! The rooms were spacious and modern, comfortable, airy. We had a nice big balcony and was nice to sit out there in the evenings. I certainly could not fault the cleaning staff, they were very helpful and done a great job.

One morning we woke up with water streaming out the side of the air conditioner. It took two times to report it before anything was done. Poor communication between the reception and ourselves. The maintenance guys showed up one evening without any notice. At least it got fixed.

One night when we returned from town we appeared to have lost our room keys. When we went to reception to inform them the response was "Now thats going to be bad". Not exactly great customer service. But eventually we did get a replacement key. Luckily for us the restaurant where we left the room keys phoned the hotel to let us know they found our keys. Phew!!

Strangely enough though, the swimming pool is only available for all guests from 6pm onwards. Never seen that in a hotel before.

Initially when it came to booking a treatment in the spa it appeared to be confusing. Staff did not appear to know what the others were doing. We appeared to get a bit of a run around at first, almost expecting Jeremy Beadle to jump out any moment. But alas, he didn't and then it hit home that these people genuinely didn't know.

Apart from that the stay was quite pleasant, great breakfast choice in the morning

Room Tip: Try and get a room from the 5th floor upwards. We found it to be nice and quiet.

Really great place for the seaside stay. Only five minutes walking through amazing pine forest to the cleanest beach of Palanga. We had an apartment, everything needed was in the room. After renovation the pool area is much bigger and much more convenient to use. The food is excellent, my super picky son had five favorite meals at the hotel restaurant. Personally I will give five stars for the restaurant. Will be back many times definitely!

We had an excellent 3 nights break in Palanga, Gradiali! Our double room was very clean, everything very modern, good bathroom and nice balcony facing to the pine forest. Fridge in the room worked very well, and the aircon was effective but a little bit noisy. We liked the buffet breakfast, the selection of food was good. It was nice to taste some Lithuanian food too! Spa included 3 saunas, 2 small swimming pools and 2 jacuzzis. It was very calm and relaxing place, we met only few other customers there. I liked the spa area, but it is good for adults - nothing really for kids. Only thing we didn't like that much was the customer service. No smiles inside this hotel and if you said thank you, they didn't react at all. It must be a cultural question, because there were only very few English speaking guests and language seems to be an issue for some team members?

Nice hotel, room looks like new.
5 min to the beach, which is not so crowded.
Good dinner and breakfast - fried egg was missing, some juice drinks were water. Perfect waffles!
Nice separate pool & jacuzzi for kids.
Friendly stuff.
Well equiped room.
