4 women really looking forward to first visit to istanbul for special birthday, Booked hotel in January 2018 through booking.com, While we were flying from Newcastle to London then on to Istanbul and finally getting to hotel only to be told that at 3.30 on the morning both hotel and booking .com sent an E-'MAIL while we were in air informing me that our hotel room was cancelled, now in duty free I had used the same card no bother and I contacted my bank and was told there is no problem at all so after 9 hours travelling and no hotel the owner said If I gave him another 100£ he would et us a room, he got a flea in his ear and then found us another hotel for the night £55 it was the pits filthy had to share staff toilet we booked flights next day as no one was willing to help, Booking. com are blaming hotel are blaming booking.com total nightmare.
What a lovely view from room window... walking distance Aya Sofya, Topkapı Palace (Topkapı Sarayı), Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Camii), Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıçı), Hippodrome, Istanbul Archaeology Museum, Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı), Süleymaniye Mosque, Chora Church (Kariye Müzesi)...
2 minutes walk for the tram station and you can visit go anywhere in Istanbul. The staff is not good in english but we manage it :)
Kind at reception desk, but not many info about the hotel or other activitys.
Entrance hall is cluterd and worn out.
Stairs and hallways are dirty and damaged.
Room is small, not cleane, bed and wardrobe are worn out, many times no hot wather, window has no handle ...
Location is the only pozitive side.
Never again to this hotel!
I was recommended by a friend to stay in this hotel due to locality and value for money. Myself and a friend booked months in advance via booking.com (we booked 2 rooms) when arriving at the hotel after midnight we were informed we was classed as a “no show” as we arrived after midnight & had not informed the hotel- (there was nothing on the t&c’s stating if I would arrive late I’d have to notify the hotel)
Anyway we arrived 45 mins later to be told that the room had been cancelled by the hotel, oh and within 45 mins had filled the two rooms!!!!! Yeah right- I think not! We then stood argued with reception to establish a resolution, eventually we were offered another hotel near by
I will never stay in this hotel again! Zero customer service
Booked the hotel thru a reputable site. Received confirmation & booking ID. Suppose stay from 25/11-27/11.
Upon arrival was told by the receptionist via interpreter that their room is full and we have to relocate to another hotel.
They claim that the site has not pay the hotel that is why they turn us away.
Apparently we are not alone. My colleague who booked at another site with FULL payment done(we choose the pay later option) and credit card already deducted, was also being turned away!!!
The reason being, the booking site has not pay the hotel, so they give up the rooms to other customers.
This is very unacceptable at this day and age. They could have easily informed us thru e-mail, tweet etc. about any changes in our booking, be it their rooms are full or whatever.
A booking is a booking, more so if the customer have already mke full payment. Imagine you arrived from thousands of mile exhausted, hungry only to receive such treatment when you arrive at their doorstep.
Being a budget hotel at a prime location is not a license to treat you guest like crap. Honesty & trust is the foundation of the industry.
