This self catering lodge is one of the best lodges I have been to. The lodges are nested within bushes, you won't believe you are in the city. Great location approximately 15min from town and quiet surroundings. The bedroom was a bit tight for me but adequate. This lodge is good for relaxing over the weekend or when taking time off. Overall I loved the space and will definitely visit again, my stay was too short.

When we arrived without prior booking on a Sunday afternoon at their gate nobody answered the bell. So we tried the mobile phone number indicated at the gate and asked for a room. Only 5 minutes later Gayle came to meet us. As they had not expected guests the room was not yet ready but she cleaned it for us in record time.

And what a surprise! You don't just get a room but a house (therefore lodge). The lodge we had was very large and modern with beautiful wooden furniture, a large sitting room, a table for 4, a large equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom and a comfy bedroom with large mosquito net. The lodge was nice and cool even without aircon although it was very hot outside.

The garden and pool were great to relax, or you could stay at your private patio.

She also gave us tips where to find a good restaurant on a Sunday night. As we loved the place so much we decided to stay a make use of the braai provided.

The lodge offers good value for money and was among the two best accommodations on our 4-weeks trip in Zimbabwe.

If you want to go to Matopos I recommend to stay at Granite Lodges instead of Malema Restcamp which is very old and the mosquitos eat you up at night. From Bulawayo you can easily explore Matopos as a day trip.

We stayed over at granite park lodge for 3 nights over Christmas and I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had booked 1 times family room and 2x double twin bed lodges. On arrival me were met by Lemeck who was very helpful and quickly processed us and showed us our lodges. The lodges we clean and tastefully well presented. Lemeck was always at hand during our stay should if we ever needed him. This place is amazing, lovely pool area and the boma was perfect for our Christmas lunch. Mrs Moore the owner was very helpful and welcomed us which was very nice. The beds are comfortable and clean. Location is amazing. 10 min drive into town and the closest grocery shop is less than 5 mins away. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Bulawayo. No doubt I'll sure be back.

We stayed at Granite Park Lodges from March 31 to April 7, 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lodges and the grounds are very beautiful. The location is a bit out of the way, so having your own vehicle would be best, but we managed without one. A Taxi ride from the lodges to downtown was $10.00 US. We were picked up by Black Rhino Safaris to do a tour of Matabos National Park from the lodges, as well.
BEDS: The master bedroom had a very firm bed for our first night's stay and with a problematic back, that was not at all good for me. Gail and Lemic went out of their way to have me test out the mattresses in the other lodges (they were all empty on our 2nd day there) and choose the softest/best one for my back. Felt just like Goldilocks : ) With great care, the bed and pillows were made much more comfortable for the rest of our stay (they very thankfully traded around the mattresses from a different lodge for us). Thank You!!!
KITCHEN: We stayed 7 nights so we made full use of the kitchen and it could use a few more utensils. A little bit of a problem with tiny ants on the cupboards, but this is Africa, so we just made very sure to clean everything up very carefully to help keep them away.
BATHROOM: Clean. Hot Water, good pressure. All a person needs. Very Basic toiletries provided.
AREA: Very Pretty, Residential. Mostly quiet, except for occasional barking dogs.
BEDROOMS: Main bedroom on main floor with twin beds made into King and then a loft area with two twin beds which was perfect for our adult daughter. Stayed in "Family Lodge".
Definitely would recommend staying here if you need accommodations at the south end of Bulawayo.

After 2.5 months travelling throughout Southern Africa staying mainly in B&Bs, Granite Park Lodges are without doubt the "Jewel in the Crown" - an excellent place to stay, highly recommended. We (party of 8) spent 6 days over the Christmas 2013 period at Granite Park Lodges and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Set in a natural secluded bushland garden complete with sheep, tortoises and bird life, the lodges, each with own patio and private BBQ area, are beautifully appointed, comfortably furnished, well equipped with all mod cons (all in good working order!) and offer satellite TV, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, room safes and house alarms. The vista from the pool area as well as from the Boma is beautiful, both great places to relax at the end of the day and watch an African sunset.
The warm welcome and personal care shown to us by Clive, Gail and staff - Lamek, Sheila and Jenny - was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, a real home from home. Thank you all for a truly memorable stay and great Christmas, and making us part of the family. We will be back!
