Pretty good, especially for the price.
Rooms are good. I slept well. Great water pressure and warm enough in the shower.
Breakfast buffet isn't worth paying extra for.
Having the pool is nice, though it's a little chilly.
Fifty years ago, the Prince Plaza II must have been an elegant place. Some of that is still evident in skylights, tilework, elevators and an occasional panel. These days, however, the Prince Plaza II is just a big, dowdy, affordably priced hotel in Manila's swankiest sector.
A staff member confirmed our guess that the roughly 400 units in the PP II have been condo-ized -- that is, they've been sold to investors; hotel management sees to their rental and maintenance (such as it is). Our room for two nights (#1807) was bright and comfortable. The included breakfast, served in a biggish top floor room, was OK. A rooftop pool was clean and clear. The staff was mostly eager to please.
First the positives: great location right next to Greenbelt in Makati. Very affordable accommodation considering the central location.
Then the negatives: the property is dated and old, and although kept clean, still doesn't look nearly as good as the photos on the booking sites. With 25 floors, the wait for the lift can be quite long, and apparently many units are residential as well. There is an automated message in the lifts that apologises for the long wait.
The cable didn't work properly so only a few English-speaking channels were available. I asked several times for this to be fixed but nothing happened during the 4 days I stayed.
One morning I was asked what time I wanted cleaning, and by the time I came back from lunch, it still had not been done. If you call housekeeping, they usually come up pretty quickly.
You only get one set of complimentary tea and coffee sachets on arrival. No top-ups.
The door to the pool is kept locked and you have wait for security to unlock it.
I never had breakfast here, but it's 400 p.p. for a buffet.
Internet is not working, towels are stinky and old, breakfast is average, no pool for kids, lounge is too crowded, no parking, parking nearby cost 1k overnight. Room couch is too old, ac in the living room does not suffice the whole room, rest room is alao stinky.
Will never go back
First time in the Philippines. We choose to stay at this hotel since it's only 30 minutes away from the airport and its right in the middle of Makati. Just few minutes walk to reach some nice shopping mall and any other tourist destinations. Or if go further, can be accessed by taxi, grab or metro. Overall stay was okay, looks bit old hotel but I believe they have doing well maintain. The room was huge with small electric kitchen, microwave, fridge and pantry also small smoking room. The breakfast also good has many choices such soup, eggs, sausage, and rice which is very typical and also bread and pastry. We'll there is a swimming pool and gym, but didn't use it.
