Most popular question about the rooms
Hello. Do you have a room that could fit 3 adults - either 2 double or queen beds, or maybe one bed where a cot could be brought in to sleep the third adult? Thank You.

The room was smelly, the bed too short, sanitary run down, breakfast poor, service inadequate. Logistically this place is only practical if you’re on your way to a safari and don’t mind where you sleep. We wouldn’t have stayed here, if we’d known better...

Thank you for taking the time to post your views and hope the rest of your trip was to your satisfaction. I feel I need to comment on your comments as they are not consistent with other guests experiences and are not what we as a company work on to ensure our guests have a great experience at our hotels. 1 The smelly room I assume is the smell of thatch and Sisal which are natural grasses which make up the roofing as well as the carpets in the rooms. You are correct that there is a natural grass smell from these however we have tried to create a safari feel in our hotel rooms hence the construction of the roofs with thatch. 2 All our beds are standard length orthopedic beds 1 m 90 which is a standard length in South Africa however we will look into offering a room with extra long beds for tall people however it is very seldom guests mention they are very tall before arrival. 3 I am not sure what is meant by run down sanitary as the room that you stayed in has been recently refurbished which included a fresh paint and re grouting of the showers. I have had our maintenance team check the flow of water from the shower and basin and to check that the toilet flushes. We are aware that the bathrooms are not modern but the look we have gone for is to keep with the simply Safari look. 4 Our breakfast is set up as a buffet which includes a variety of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, Tea and coffee which is self service. Our waitresses take orders for the hot breakfasts which include fried, boiled, scrambled or poached eggs as well as omelettes with a choice of fillings and they all come with a choice of Bacon, sausage beans and fried onions and if something is requested we always try an accommodate including Gluten free bread. 5 I am not sure how to respond about inadequate service because we are always complemented about our great service however I have chatted to all staff that were on duty the day you stayed with us reminding them of what we strife to achieve. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay and had you feelings been shared with either me or Jose while you were hear I am sure we could addressed your concerns straight away either by an explanation or to rectify any wrong Regards Al

We stayed at the Safari Club for 2 nights prior to start of tour. We were met at the airport by one of the friendly staff. Staff member who checked us in was very professional and friendly. Room was clean with an African flavour. Breakfast was very good, lovely fresh fruit and tasty cooked breakfast.

We stayed at Safari Club for one night on two occasions, going and coming from game parks as part of a G Adventure tour. Conveniently located near the international airport, Safari Club is a pleasant surprise once you are inside the gate and on the grounds, with a dozen bungalows arranged around a green courtyard. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom clean and fully functional, but rather dated. There was no problem with Wifi, but the heating proved a challenge and being winter it discouraged showering. (Admittedly, on the second stay, the heat did work better.) The hosts were very accommodating, and the dining room and cozy bar had a certain charm. The buffet dinners we had were very good. Also appreciated was the fact that we were able to store one bag while away of safari. So if you are looking for a quiet place to relax, and not the typical airport hotel, Safari Club is the ticket.

The Safari Club is set in a beautiful, landscaped gardens with a pool, surrounded by beautifully appointed and very comfortable en suite rooms situated very close to the airport where they do complimentary collections and returns. The main hotel has a lovely lounge to relax in, contemporary dining room to dine in and a cosy bar to unwind in. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I left my charger in the room and they rushed it to me at the airport before I caught my flight. I can highly, highly recommend this hotel for an overnight stay between onward connections or more importantly even for a few days to relax and explore Johannesburg.

We needed accomodation near the airport since our flight arrived in the evening at 9pm. We felt it was too late to still pick up our rental car, so decided to stay the first night at the Safari Club. As we entered we just felt how special this place is. So near to the airport and wow, you really get the South Africa Safari feeling immediately. The set up of the garden, the cosy rooms around, and than the main building. We had rooms in the like 'masterhouse', where the reception is, and the restaurant. The rooms were so pretty and the atmosphere so beautiful. There is like a 'lving room' that comes straight out of Out of Africa images, where you can sit and read a book, or simply feel that you are in Africa. The management went through so much trouble for us, I need pages to describe that. We got into an accident on the way back, and the way the management was there for us to listen to us, help, up to the pot of coffee ready when we got back. I just did not want to leave. We stayed in many places during our trip but this was by far the one where we felt at home, safe, and just felt so good to be there. The little bar in the back kept us up in the evening, simply because it was so nice, cosy and had good wine ;-). Thank you so much for having us, we think of the Safari Club all the time and can not wait to be back there one day...
And, not to forget, they drove us to the car rental company on the day of pick up, and also at the end of our stay. What a service! Please remember to give their drivers some kind of tip, they will never ask for that but we felt they so deserved it!
