Very nice hotel. Clean. Staff very friendly and helpful
Lovely breakfast. Great location one street back from Main Street so no noise but easy access to all the restaurants etc.
We had dinner in the hotel one evening and food was great. Rooms quite simple but very cosy and comfortable. Nice gym and spa. Everything you need!
Nice, modern hotel. Comfortable room. Nice bathroom. Good wifi. ok breakfast. ok gym. English language a struggle at times but reception keen to help. Fine for one night. No tea /coffe facilities in room or complimentary water but this seems to be the norm in Argentina?
Stayed here again this week at start of Antarctic trip. Stayed for 3 night also in January 2013. Both visits excellent. Rooms are comfortable, spotless and nicely furnished. Hotel is quiet as it is one block off main shopping street. Hotel hassmall restaurant/bar. Food is good but not spectacular. Breakfast buffet includes eggs, meat, lots of cereals, fruit and pastry. Hotel also a has nice gym. Staff all speak English and are very helpful. Made reservation thru Expedia with no problem.
We stayed here for three nights. The location was great (one block from the main drag and a few blocks from a great grocery store where you can pick up pre-made sandwiches in the morning before a hike). The wifi connection was great (good enough to allow us to watch a few movies on Netflix and to Skype). The gym is a major selling point if you want to work out. It has natural sun light and is equipped with a tv, two spinning bikes, a tread mill, free weights, stepper, yoga ball and more. The downside is that it's only open from 9 am to 9 pm so forget a morning workout if you have any plans for the day. The breakfast was solid: fresh and canned fruits, plenty of different cereal, bread, scrambled eggs, wieners (not sausages), beacon, cheese, chocolate and strawberry cake and, if you have a sweet tooth, brownies (dont judge, Im six months pregnant). Comfy king size beds, nice bathrooms with socker tub and good shower head. Not as fancy as most four star hotels but its a good place to stay.
This is a new contemporary hotel one block from the main street of Ushuaia.
On the positive side:
Our room had a great view of the Beagle Channel, a comforatable king-sized bed, excellent lighting, adequate closet space, a safe and mini-bar. Everything was top of the line.
The front desk staff were outstanding.
The gym was had everything one could want and was equal to the best I have ever seen...even in hotels 10 times as big. The breakfasts offered a wide selection and were of high quality. The location was convenient.
On the negative side:
our room was too small, oddly arranged and provided no chairs. It was uncomfortable.
The bathroom was divided into two sections....the section with the tub/shower combination, toilet and bidet was fine but the section with the sink was tiny, tiny, tiny. There was no place to store toiletries and there was hardly enough room to stand in front of the sink. The bathroom doors were see through glass which we found awkward.
The room was not air-conditioned. This was a problem because the small room got very warm and we had to have the windows open at all times.
Although our view of the Beagle Channel was fantastic, it was partially ruined by an absolutely disgusting junk yard right behind the hotel. The junk yard was protected 24 hours a day by a chained watch dog who barked almost continuously.
While a case could be made that this is a legitimate 4 star hotel, I think the lack of a/c, the small rooms and dwarf -sized bathrooms earns it 3 stars.
If I were to return to Ushuaia, I would try to find a better hotel. However, I am not sure there is one.
