We had a very good experience staying at this Howard Johnson hotel. Very clean room and great service. All personnel are very friendly. Highly recommend it. The only drawback is the toilet and tub room is too small for a disabled person.
I have stayed at a few hotels during this pandemic, but most were more up-front about their policy changes. This specific hotel irritated me because the marquee literally stated "continental breakfast," yet they did not offer even a granola bar and juice as many places are doing. How hard would it be to update the sign? This was especially annoying since someone had mentioned the same complaint over two weeks earlier online, indicating that bait-and-switch is at play - or at the very least laziness.
The room itself was a little dated but clean and decent. The location is ideal as it is within walking distance of downtown Williams and right next door to the Grand Canyon Railway. The pool is currently open and small but clean. They will probably try to charge you and extra $3.50/day if you booked anywhere other than their site, but don't pay it unless your agreement specifically mentioned it!
So realize you are not getting some really nice ritzy place. It was very nice. The beds were not bad. The room could have been a little cleaner. The manager and staff was awesome they went above and beyond. It is nicely located and only a couple minutes drive from the Railway Museum and downtown. We stayed here to do the Polar Express which is the 3rd time we have done it and my son loves it. It is really close to the freeway. Breakfast was good, you can make your own waffles, toast, cereal or eat muffins.
Clean, comfortable room, friendly, helpful staff. Walking distance to attractions. Would stay again, reasonable price. Easy to book on line. Breakfast was a bit bland, cold pastery, coffee, cereal and waffles.
The computer in the lobby has been broken for at least a year, and by appearance, they don't have any plans to fix it.
The last time I was there, the room I was assigned had a separate bathroom, I assumed it would be the same this time. But no, the room this time had a bath with a tub and toilet, but the sink area was in the room itself, with no privacy,
