We stayed 3 nights over Easter weekend. I accidentally booked Comfort Suites instead of Comfort Inn, but the nice gentleman at the front desk got me taken care of and cancelled my other stay. I couldn't believe the price we paid. It was $65 with my AAA card.
We did not try breakfast, but the lady putting it up one day asked if we would like anything. They were all very nice.
The bed was very comfy. The room large. They do clean the rooms (many do not right now due to covid). Our TV didn't work, but I'm sure we could've had someone come to fix that. We weren't there to watch TV!
Only two towels were provided. Typically other hotels will do 3 for a king room. There was a regular size refrigerator & we were able to have a quick breakfast in our room.
I noticed the pool & hot tub were open, but we did not try it out. They did appear to be doing some remodeling, but that did not bother us. We had a quiet room on the top floor away from the elevator.
One thing to note, altho this is one of the closest hotels to the square, it's still probably a 2 mile or so drive and you have to go over a highway. I didn't see a trail route.
We brought our wrestling team here and had nothing but a wonderful stay. The rooms are very huge. The girls on the team loved the full length mirror in the bed area. The boys had room to play their video games in the rooms they were so big. We liked the mini kitchen area with refrigerator, microwave and sink. Bathroom was a nice size--shower only. The beds were comfortable. The pool area was fun for the kids and the the workout facility was nice sized. The breakfast was better than most hotels during this point in time. The business area was huge as well. We really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is clean and comfortable but the management is terrible. I don't blame the girl who is on duty. She's working by herself and she can't be everywhere at the same time.
Check in was fine. We were surprised that the towels were located under the sink and there are no towel bars in the bathroom. There is no coffee pot! There is too much empty space. There should be a chair or couch in the room with so much space.
At the hot tub the door was kept in an unlocked position and 2 boys (not guests) came in and started to undress to their underwear and when someone told them not to do that they threw a chair in the pool. I went and told the front desk and they did call the police. The hot tub only had 2 jets that were working and there were 5 little kids in it when we got there. Fortunately 3 of them got out. There were NOT hardly any towels at the pool area and my boyfriend asked for more towels but nobody ever brought them so we had to go upstairs wet.
When I wanted to make some tea and put sugar and ice in it I noticed that there was a coffee maker but no pot and I tried to call the front desk but she wasn't available. I went down in my bathrobe and waited to talk to her and she said that someone had probably stolen the coffee pot but why would anyone do that? Also, she told me I could get hot water and bring it upstairs so I was in my bathrobe trying to cary 2 hot cups of water upstairs when I should have been comfortable in my room.
We are still here; it is 10:45 pm. We are supposed to stay tomororrow. It would be nice if we decided to get in the hot tub tomorrow for there not to be boys undressing and for us to have enough towels so we don't have to go upstairs wet.
Likes: The rooms are very spacious in comparison to a standard hotel room. There are onsite snacks, a small workout room, pool and hot tub. The lobby is pleasing and they had a brochure rack of things to do in the area. This hotel is about a 5-7 minute drive to downtown and most local eateries, as well as Cracker Barrel!
The staff in the breafast area kept the area well-stocked. The breakfast area is nice and provided cereals, fruit, yogurt, some breads, blueberry and regular waffle mixes to make waffles, eggs, and sausage. The plus - peanut butter and cream cheeses. Also, good coffee was flowing freely!
Dislikes: The hallways are very narrow, but we all conceded that if it took smaller hallways to have larger rooms, we were fine with it! I noticed that when people left or arrived there was not a cheerful greeting by desk staff. People came and went and the hotel front desk staff had her head down and did not look up to proffer a greeting or other pleasantry, which I would think would be helpful.
My family stayed here on the last night of our vacation as we were traveling home. The hotel is very clean and modern. The room was much larger than a typical hotel room with a small kitchen area, sleeping and desk area, and large bathroom. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were several breakfast options. Our only complaint is that the pool was quite cold. None of us could force ourselves to get in.
