The check in agent was very friendly and helpful. She was the positive part of the stay. That’s about the only positive thing I can say. The parking lot lights on the back side of the building are not currently working. The back door that requires a card reader is broken and is left open until midnight each night. Upon arriving on our floor, there was a fire alarm going off in a room that no one knew about and we had to notify front desk. The window unit that supplies the elevator landing is leaking everywhere and it smelled moldy.
The room was just...Gross. Gross. Gross. If we weren’t in a pinch, we would have found somewhere else to go. We were only staying one night and it was due to mechanical issues with our car. The grossest was what we found when we woke up the next morning and turned on the lights (we arrived late and went to bed pretty quickly). The shower was stained. There was a half eaten bag of Cheetos on the floor in a mystery stain of something red all over the carpet. Our puppy brought us a piece of old gauze that he found on the floor.
If this place could match their cleanliness with the friendliness of the check in experience, it would be a great place to stay. Otherwise, stay far far away.
As a Diamond Member with Choice Hotels I have stayed over 80 nights per year for the the past two years and have to say that this room has been the worse hands down. From the moment I walked into the room, I saw the carpet discolored and stained, the door handle was missing off the refrigerator and the desk chair worn beyond belief. Paint was peeling off the ceiling, the bathtub floor was stained, and crumbs were all over the TV stand. I checked in at 10:30 p.m. and did not have the energy to deal with moving to a new room, and as I was putting away my toiletries in the bathroom found two payroll checks left from an employee. Checking out in the a.m. I showed the front desk clerk the pictures and requested a call from the manager to discuss why they would keep such a disheveled room in service, and was assured I would get a return call. When I had not heard from anyone by 3 p.m., I called again and was told by a different clerk the manager had been "busy" that day and she was not aware of the problem but would certainly have the Manager call me. That was 4 days ago, obviously there priorities lie elsewhere from keeping their property updated and clean, to caring about their guests experience.
Everyone we met on the staff was especially friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but ours appeared to be clean. Room includes a microwave and mini fridge and a hot breakfast (6-9am). Bedding was in need of update. AC worked well. The hotel was full and guests appeared to be mostly construction workers, so expect some dust and trucks with equipment. Parking is limited. There are several places to eat nearby. If this is helpful please click the link below to let us know.
Dust every where the first room I was put in the couch was dirty and the bed skirt was dirty and the second room I was put in the room was very dusty you could roll up the dust in a ball. Hot tub was damaged, and the sheets on the bed were stained, so was the carpet. Filthy!
Stopped in unplanned around 1030pm with my family on our way to Myrtle Beach. Quick check in, inexpensive prices, and our king size room had a jacuzzi in it. Very spacious.
Breakfast was hot : sausage links, coffee, grits, waffles
Didn’t use outdoor pool but it looked green 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️
