This hotel was our last stop on a 17 day trip to Florida and back. This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at. It may be hard to find off the interstate without a GPS however it really was only a couple minutes. The location however was really ideal with lots of stores and restaurants close by. The hotel looked modern and very clean. There was an indoor pool and hot tub. The room had all matching granite tops on the furniture and bathroom surfaces. The bathroom was spacious with a standup shower and waterfall showerhead. The breakfast was the typical servings however a much cleaner and ample setting. The price through AARP was very good as well. If you aren't a member, try Trip Advisor or Hotels.com as their prices seemed good as well.
THEFT ALERT, HOUSEKEEPING ‼️‼️
let me start by saying this was actually a very good hotel for the amenities and the friendly staff. I normally leave mostly good reviews... but I can't in this case.
as you can see by my badges on TripAdvisor I have probably been in over a thousand hotels in my life... Traveling the Army for 30 almost years..
Stayed here near the end of January 2020, during a family emergency. So when I experienced the theft, two times... I feel obligated to write about it.
when I came back to the room one day after a funeral... I noticed that my bags had look like they've been moved a little bit. sure as heck... ALL my medicines were stolen( they were labeled "pain pills" in Ziploc bags so I am assuming whoever took them probably thought it was good stuff like percocet or some type of Really good pain killer) Unfortunately for them it was just ibuprofen, Excedrin and Tylenol. When they got home and checked them out more thoroughly they probably were upset. They also stole though an entire bag of CBD, CBD pens and liquid... This was worth well over 200$‼️ And I'm going to guess they probably thought it was Cannabis.(thc).Because it looks like oil... And most people don't know the difference. But they took a stab at it. On my dime.
Bottom line?this really hurt! Because I am 100% disabled veteran and that stuff they stole really helps with the pain. I know it's technically my fault for not putting it in the safe, but I would not think somebody (I can only assume housekeeping) would dig down to the bottom of my suitcase either. After exploring that, and ripping everything apart... I told the front desk... The girl basically told me in a nutshell "sorry for your loss there's nothing we can do".
I know that the forms we sign when we enter the hotel say that they are not liable for loss. And I understand that and I have learned a valuable lesson. But here is a warning I want you to hear... After they did it once they attempted to do it twice. I set paper traps in the room and I could tell if things were moved around. When I came back the following day I noticed the closet had been opened and all of my drawers have been open and some things I put on my clothes were no longer there. Meaning whoever was cleaning my room was digging through my stuff. That just creeps me out. So I feel obligated to WARN THE PUBLIC.
I know this is not a high-end hotel like five stars or anything. But I'll have to tell you I was frustrated with the way the front desk took care of it. They never mentioned they would talk to housekeeping or even look into it. They just said sorry.
ONLY Positive Note:
+++ The breakfast was good + the 2 girls who served it were very friendly. The people behind the counter were super helpful and fast during check in (NOT after the THEFT however)
And everything else I was fine with especially the warm swimming pool and hot tub! But this review unfortunately is tainted because of theft.
if you do decide on using this hotel, be very very careful with anything you consider valuable. Because there's a fox in The hen-house.

I recently stayed two nights at this Comfort Suites while in the area to visit Kings Dominion. The park was only about 15 minutes away. Check in went smoothly and I got a top floor room as requested, room 512. The room was large with a separate living room area with a large TV, a bedroom with king bed, and a bathroom with a whirlpool tub in between.
The room was clean overall although oddly there was a plastic bag tied around the smoke detector in bedroom. Bathroom was large and clean and had a cool shower head above you.
Due to the rain, i ended up spending a full day in my room, besides visiting the near by dilapidated mall which seems to be on the path to closure. That morning, I went to use the jetted tub in my room, and after a few minutes, it kept shutting off. This ruined my plans to relax and I called the front desk and was told someone would come up to fix it. I waited and waited and waited and an hour and a half later, I went to the front desk, and they seemingly had forgotten to call a engineer.
The engineer, Santos I believe was his name, was friendly, but it took almost two hours for the repair to be made, as he had to replace the on/off button. He also left the bathroom a mess with smudges all over the floor towels and tile. The housekeeper asked if I wanted my room clean when I was stepping out and under 15 minutes she cleaned the bathroom and the entire room was spotless! Impressive!
I also used the pool, which I had to myself for an hour, as the engineers painted/worked on the hot tub area nearby. They did seem busy!
Breakfast was pretty good, with a nice variety of items, and was plentiful.
Oddly on my second night, I happened to look outside before going to bed, and saw 5 police cars shining flashlights into all the cars into the parking lot, which was interesting! Speaking of the parking lot, it is shared with the Candlewood Suites in the same lot, and parking seemed tight due to two hotels sharing the lot.
Overall, I would definitely stay again, as the room was huge, comfortable, and clean! The jetted tub was very nice after it was fixed but they should have offered to change my room or at least apologized.
Very nice, quiet stay! The breakfast was very good. We had scrambled eggs, sausage, English muffins, and waffles. It is really great to have the hot items available in the morning! The room was very clean, comfortable, and big enough to set up our 2 pack n plays for the toddlers. Staff was also very nice. We did not have an opportunity to check out the pool. We would choose this hotel again if passing through Richmond.
If you are traveling for business or for personal reasons, you can’t go wrong with this place!!!! The staff is super friendly!!! The rooms are clean and spacious. They have a pool and a fitness center as well as breakfast in the mornings. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and nightlife isn’t far away either. I recommend this place for families or individuals who want a Big Bang for their buck!!!! Shannon and Amanda are awesome to deal with. If you need anything just ask for them and they will do their best to satisfy your needs. If you haven’t stayed here and you frequent the area, I suggest you give them a try, You won’t be disappointed!!!!!!
