Cannot give any rating as we had the most awfull experiance. All was well with the booking .as it was in the area my Husband & Daughter wanted to be to Visit Italian gardens & villages + Elba.We arrived to be told by a rather over sweet Lady our apartment was not ready .It was late afternoon. She showed us to the pool area that looked lovely.Brought us wine & my Husband beer.
One hour later we were told to to follow a beaten up old car up the hill .We were shown some awfull apartment in the top of an old farmworkers building. It was best described as an old persons home from The 60's .The staircase up to it was coming away from the wall,I wabbled the beds and they fell apart, Just a trickle came out of the sinks. There was no shower . Just a Half size bath. No way could we stay.Went back to the lady and told her it was apauling and she agreed. Why did she take our booking!!!She tried to make us stay there for a few nights and she would sort out something else.We had driven for 2 days,to be ripped off this badly. We contacted our other Daughter in England and she managed to get us in a Hotel,it was nearly 2 hour's away. From there she sorted us in another Agriturismo where she had stayed 5 weeks earlier. This place should never have taken our booking,We will warn all we know not to get taken over in this way by what looked to be a restfull accomodation. We have also found out we are not the first ones this has been done to.It appears that, when the main accomodation is full This is what they do and as my title of the review suggests this place was GREEDY,and had no care as to the required stress-less start to our 2 week holiday.

We were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful, clean, and well-appointed 200 year old farmhouse. Out family of four enjoyed our spacious apartment with kitchenette, dining table, sofa bed for the kids, and separate bedroom for us. The pool is gorgeous, with incredible views of the Tuscan countryside. Anna Maria speaks lovely English, and the included breakfasts and dinners (20 euros/person) were served outside on a beautiful terrace overlooking the views. We had the best dinner of our entire 3 week Italian trip here at La Colombaia (and we have high standards). The staff and owner were friendly and accommodating. There is free wi-fi onsite, but not in the rooms. The nearby town of Massa Marittima is a hidden gem. Can't wait to return here again someday.
