I had booked one night but the place was so nice and the atmosphere so cosy that I decided to stay for 3 nights: it' probably the best bed and breakfast of all my tour in Sicily
It's centrally located and the room and bathroom are very nice and Donatella and Turi are always willing to help and answer any question

When we arrived at La Durlindana, no one answered the door or telephone. We came back after half an hour and were shown our room. There was a man working, but he did not seem to be the owner. In the evening, no one was present. We had to call his cell phone to get more details about breakfast. Breakfast was not at the B&B, but at a restaurant a couple blocks away. We were told we had the pay the 4 euro difference for what we ate. Compared to other places, we ate very little.
When we came back to check out we had to call again since no one was visible. We paid cash, never having shown our passports and did not get a receipt. The wi-if did not work well and the beds were not comfortable. Overall, it was a strange experience and disappointing.

In the heart of Acireale, a mere two minute walk to the Duomo and the Cathedral, sits the beautiful Ladurlidana B&B. This peaceful and gorgeous home of Salvatore and Donatella offers the traveling guest a truly " home away from home " atmosphere.
Although only a few hundred meters from the center, one would think you were staying in a country villa. The high walls surrounding tthe home creates the quiteness of the country side, with only the faint sounds of the local church bells.
Upon entering one walks to the garden area, with its lush plants and lemon trees, you are met with the sweet smell of the garden. This is truly relaxing when you awake in the morning and retire at night. If you are fortunate to stay here in the summer months the evening brings the sweet smell of Jasmine, coming from the large Jasmine plant.
The three large and beautifully decorated rooms on the lower level all open onto the garden area. Each of these rooms are especially spacious with excellant bathrooms.
A fourth room on the second level is unique in that there is a large bedroom and adjoining second bedroom, separated by an entry way. This is ideal for a couple with one or two children.
It certainly should be mentioned, that as Salvatore and Donatella live in this beautiful villa, they are always near by should you have any problems or simply need information about Acireale or the surrounding area. They are so very kind and generous.
I have been staying at Ladurlindana for nearly 5 years and will typically stay for 2 to 3 weeks twice a year. I feel more like family when here and think you will too.
So, if you are looking for a tranquil, quiet and beautiful place to stay in Acireale, look no further than here !

I am pleased to write a note about my stays at La Durlindana.I have stayed at this B and B twice a year for the last 4 years. The rooms are so very beautifuI and comfortable. The bed is large and the bathroom is very nice with a great shower. The room I always stay in opens onto the beautiful garden and during the summer time the smell of the Jasmine is absolutely incredible.
Everything is clean and spotless. This place is so much superior to any hotel room and you feel as though you are staying at home.
The owners of La Durlindana, Salvatore and Donatella, are the kindest and most acoomodating people I have found. They have provided me with anything I have had need of. Because I stay with them for approximately 6 weeks each year I now refer to them as part of my family.
I can not iamagine staying at any place other than LaDurlindana and I do not hesitate to tell anyone that if they want something much better than a hotel room they muist stay at La Durlindana.
