Nestled in the heart of Grace Bay, Ports of Call Resort is celebrated by guests for its prime location. Just a short stroll away from the stunning Grace Bay Beach, the hotel offers easy access to nearby dining and shopping options, which is a major draw for many travelers. Although the rooms generally receive praise for their cleanliness and comfort, a few guests have called out issues regarding space and upkeep. The inviting pool and diverse amenities enhance the stay, yet some visitors note a lack in ambiance and occasional service hiccups. Despite these mixed reviews, the resort is often regarded as offering good value for its location and facilities.

This hotel is conveniently located in Grace Bay, there is a supermarket across the road that is well stocked, including hot food for breakfast and lunch, the chicken is delicious and extremely affordable compared to the price of restaurants. The hotel does the job in terms of a place to sleep which is safe and cleaned daily. The staff members are exceptional and helpful, Bernard who works at the front desk really helped us to have a pleasant stay, Watson is fantastic too and makes delicious cocktails. The cooks who make breakfast are really warm and friendly. Michael and Shandrea (not sure if that's spelled correctly) were helpful too.

There is a free shuttle to and from the beach and the beach is stunning and spotless, not rubbish and crystal clear waters.

The hot water was lukewarm some morning however, this was rectified speedily by reception. All in all we had a good stay.

It is ideally located. I traveled with my two 18-year-old girls, who liked the location because of the restaurants and shops. The walk to the beach was safe, easy, and quaint. We chose not to stay on the beach for mostly economic reasons. However, I was worried that the beachfront could become boring for the girls. The breakfast was a huge factor. It was nice waking up and not having to "research eatery options." Also, the Wi-Fi worked great!

I would definitely stay again because of the price and location. Once on the beach, to the left was Seven Stars and Ritz-Carlton, which had well-maintained buildings, landscaping, and restaurants.

We stayed at Ports of Call for four nights in a poolside terrace room. The room itself was clean, recently refurbished and very comfortable, the pool area was warm and inviting with tropical plants making it a pleasant place to while away the time.

The resort offers a fairly basic complimentary breakfast (think Hampton Inn, or equivalent) but there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you want to pay for something more upscale. The Graceway Gourmet supermarket is just across the street as well if you want to self cater.

The resort is not on the beach, but a short 0.2 mile walk gets you to the resort’s own dedicated chairs and umbrellas in a prime beach location.

Our only real problem was a lack of hot water for three of our four nights- and the complete lack of any accurate updates from staff - they didn’t know either. It was always ‘should be fixed by tonight’ . By day two we had to request access to another room just for showers.

Overall good value for money given the prices of the neighboring properties, especially if you’re not desperate for an ocean view..

Thank you for the nice review. My apologies re our issues with the hot water. Fortunately the problem was restricted to one wing of the hotel only and the water temp from the taps and shower without heating, due to our Caribbean location, is still approx 80 degrees The reason that our staff could not be precise on when the issue would be fixed is because the experts looking at the problem kept assuring us that everything would be fixed that day and unfortunately it wasn't. While we have still not fixed the problem completely we are making inroads and are able to deliver hotter water than in the past two weeks and are told the system will be back to 100% shortly..

So an average rating for this resort is generous from my perspective. The positives as you have read in other reviews are the location in reference to the market across the street, the access to the beach, and restaurants in the area. The hotel room we were assigned Room 107 specifically had a terrible moldy oder. We arrived late so the next morning I asked Emanual at the front desk to change rooms that I had respiratory issues and didn't feel it was healthy for me to stay in a room with such a moldy odor.
He offered another Room and on inspection it also had the same odor.
I was told he would talk to a supervisor and they would get back to me.
That Never happened. All our clothes had to be cleaned as this odor permeated everything we brought with us. Including my CPAP machine which still smells like the room and will have to be disinfected. The front desk was not accommodating in this respect. In addition, the bathroom fan made such a loud rattling noise every time you turned it on. The room needs updating, the rug under the coffee table was gray brown from dirt. As for the free breakfast it was sufficient and does help with the food expence on the Island. The lounges around the pool and some at the beach need updating old and non-supportive.

Taxi's are expensive and food is expensive. Everything here is imported.
My recommendation is if you are going to spend the money to go to Turks then spend the extra you might save at this resort and stay elsewhere.

Thank you for your positive comments on our location and complimentary breakfast. As we are in the Caribbean some humidity odor is expected however I was surprised at your comment on the "tired" look as the majority of our rooms have had new furniture installed in the past two years and we just completed a major renovation of our lobby and bar area a few months ago. While we generally receive positive comments on our pool furniture, I am happy to report that we have all new pool and bar furniture on its way which will hopefully be installed before the end of February..

Reached for a must awaited time with family.
Arrived to a not ready room. Yes island time but two hours to get room ready and then to find out no locks on the room disappointed.
Finally got locks on bathroom and door completed. But management terrible.
Two stars for the person who was helping us.
Sandy amazing person in front desk.
24hours later we go out for day excursions return to room we r missing our daughter's bracelet ( did I mention this room has no locker provided) anyway management is blaming us for missing our own braclet which was in ur jacket pocket who would know except us. But it's missing and 24 hour later only response we have from TERRYN - manager assistant that I need to check ur luggage.
There goes another star-/ I am here on my vacation the last thing I was to do is create a issue my kid lost her bracelet and you want to search my luggage-let's not be STUPID- I don't have time for ur non sense.
Ports of call have no I am sorry I lost you item or so sorry your room is not ready.
Worst island experience.
I am here for my family but to those want. stay here let's think twice there r better + u can stay. Have a good time with ur family. instead of staying with these guys.

We have stayed in many resorts before May be port of call should remove name resort from their name . Service is equivalent to any roadside three star place u would stay in emergency.

Housekeeping: five star
Sandy in front seat five star

Management: pathetic no clue how to provide service of communication regarding failed services. No follow up on whether they checked the sheets after room cleaning when we reported lost blanket.
If you only strive on doing follow up on your guest baggage checking three times in a row instead of checking your laundry than you need housekeeping classes.

I apologize that your room was not ready on time on your arrival. Our housekeeping staff is doing their best but we have been at 100% occupancy over the past week, levels that only occur a few weeks of the year. As far as your lost bracelet ( I am told you said it had a $45. value), we are very proud of the fact that the number of times a guest has reported something missing from their room over the fourteen years that we have owned the resort can be counted on one hand. In most cases the guest eventually finds that they had misplaced the item. I am told that you did not want us to search your room and as all rooms have safes in the closet, we, like all other hotels, do not take responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Returning to Ports of Call feels like going home to my own slice of Paradise.
There isn’t a better staff on the island or a better place to stay on Grace Bay for the value. They are constantly making improvements and this year, owners, Dale and Wendy Papke, have upgraded all the rooms with new furnishings and amenities.
The rooms are bright, and airy. The comfortable beds are dressed with all white linens, and the bathrooms have walk-in waterfall showers and soft fluffy bath towels. The best room to get is a poolside facing room with its own patio, with white plantation shutters.
Ports of Call has a great free breakfast with everything you’d want to start your day. Eat outside next to the pool, under swaying palms, beside the beautiful gardens with tropical flowers. In addition to the pool, there is a hot tub, some hammocks, a kids playground, and outdoor grills you can reserve.
Ports of Call is a great location for walking to nearby restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, an ice cream store and places to buy island goods. You can either walk a short distance to the beach ( set up for just Ports of Call guests by the super helpful Joseph, Wesley and Bernard) , or take the convenient shuttle.
Watson has a great laugh, and takes good care of everyone at the bar. Happy Hour is a really good deal. Front desk people are more than happy to help you plan a fun excursion or get a taxi. Manager, Taiwayne, goes out of his way to help you with any requests, with the help of his wonderful assistant manager, Aggie.
Milamie and Mercedes work very hard to help you with breakfast and keep everything super clean. The housekeeping staff led by Rose, make sure the rooms are clean every day with refreshed towels and bed linens. They do such a great job.!
You will love staying at Ports of Call and want to return each year like I do.
My thanks to everyone there! I had another perfect stay!

I heard about this place from a couple and I decided to book this hotel with my family through JetBlue Hotel and Flight Vacation Package and we got it at a reasonable price for the stay in August this year. Now since it was a 3rd party booking, there was a small issue with the room and normally a charge would have been made. But luckily the staff and the manager understood our situation and were concerned for my parents so they allowed us to stay at the ground floor near the pool. So thank you manager and staff for the compensation. Although this hotel is not inclusive and there are no elevators, our expectations were more than we imagined. The room had enough space for three people, good access to the pool in the back, and overall the place is very clean and well organized. This hotel is very close by proximity to other places such as cafes, gift shops, restaurants and of course Grace Bay Beach, which we loved. It was good because it was walking distance and close by that no taxi or car is needed to get there. It was also close to Where we got some good food and groceries from Graceway market. The breakfast was free and they had several options depending on the day but it was good for the most part. I did Like the spacious view of the lobby to the pool side and the jacuzzi. A little smaller than most hotels but it's great for night swimming with the colorful lights. they give you cards for a free peach and rum complimentary stay drink but other drinks require purchases. there are activities around the pool such as ping pong, board games and playground for kids. Overall, this hotel is perfect for families and lay-back relaxation and for a reasonable price and offers, It's better than some hotels and Airbnbs that cost more around my time there. Me and my family approved this hotel for what was mentioned and for our first time in Turks and Caicos 🇹🇨, I would say we were satisfied with the great hotel atmosphere, the good service and the friendly staff. Yes, we would come back and recommend it for other travelers visiting Turks and Caicos 🇹🇨 for the first time.

I first want to say that I was very disappointed in my stay…we got to the hotel and the room had such a moldy odor. It was so bad that we went to the grocery store and got air freshener spray. The air was not cold. Our room would never go below 74-75 degrees. Our room had iced cold water?! I spoke to the front desk and they were helpful and said they will have maintenance fix it but then the hot water only last for a few days after they fixed it.. I was so upset. The first two nights of staying here the fire alarm went off on the second floor at 4 a.m. ridiculous? 2 nights in a row at the same time both nights?! I wanted to leave this “resort” so bad but nothing else was available since it was 4th of July week. The breakfast area was not well cleaned so we didn’t even try the free breakfast. As far as the beach goes there was so much trash right by the beach chairs that are provided for the port of call guests. It was absolutely so gross the smell was horrible when you were sitting on the beach since it was right behind us. The chairs are pretty much first come first serve and if you get there after 10 am you are screwed from having a chance to sit close to the water to hear the waves. I was so upset the whole trip just because my boyfriend and I wanted to relax but we actually COULD NOT due the room issues and the beach chairs/area being so gross and loud. One other thing that was so ridiculous was that POC provides you with these chairs and umbrellas but our umbrella was broke bc of the wind that day and we asked them to give us another one and he said I can’t? It was the weirdest/rude thing. I actually felt so uncomfortable staying at this resort because I felt like I could have enjoyed a lake trip back in GA more than I did on this trip. Fr don’t stay here! Take it from me!

I apologize for you not enjoying your stay with us. As you can see from the hundreds of other reviews, disappointment is not the norm. I am not sure the reason behind why you experienced cold water in your room as we have a combination solar and propane water heating. That said we do experience the odd case where the pilot on the heater goes out. Judging by your comment that our maintenance team was able to quickly correct the situation I am guessing that may be the reason. It is very rare that the fire alarm goes off and is usually related to someone smoking in their room which as you know is not allowed. Hopefully you appreciate that despite the inconvenience the alarm this provides safety for our guests. I will look into your concerns re the breakfast area cleanliness although in general we hear nothing but praise about our cleanliness and the friendliness of our breakfast staff. Like all resorts breach chairs are on a first come basis and fortunately we have enough chairs to always accommodate all of our guests. We are aware of the trash problem but this is a government responsibility as the trash is on a public walkway. We do have our own beach trash bins that we empty regularly and we actually send our men down to empty the governments trash once or twice a week. Based on your input and despite it not being our responsibility I have asked our staff to clean the area daily until we can get the government to get their act together. I would love the opportunity to discuss this further with you but the name on your review does not match any past guest. Perhaps you could send an email to reservations asking myself to contact you.

Great value and location in Grace Bay. We just returned from a week at this resort. It is across the street from Grace Bay (not beachfront), but it’s a quick 3 minute walk. There is a shuttle available - if it’s not out front just ask the front desk and they will call it for you. We were always able to get chairs and an umbrella, particularly Monday - Thursday. Friday we arrived by 11 and were able to get the last few chairs. Most people spend their time at the beach so the pool isn’t very busy.

Our room was nice and a good size. Note that the air conditioning doesn’t get cooler than around 70/72 degrees but these might be the hardest working air conditioners I’ve ever seen.

We had breakfast each day - it’s similar to what you get at a Holiday Inn Express.

The bartender, Watson, was super fun. We participated in trivia and a few other events. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was always very clean.

While this hotel is not a 5 star luxury resort, I’m giving it 5 stars for location and value. If you want a 5 star luxury resort, you can stay across the street at the Ritz and pay $1,100 per night for the same size room and not much else.

I have been coming to Ports of Call for the past eight years and it's always a fantastic experience. The friendly staff, great amenities, boutique atmosphere and premium location in Grace Bay (5 minutes to the beach and all the restaurants/bars we'd need) gives you everything you'd need for the ultimate relaxing vacation!

The recently renovated kitchen and breakfast bar is a nice touch and a great way to start your day. The beach is a short walk where you'll find an abundance of beach chairs in the Ports designated area to relax on that beautiful white sand. Ending your day with one of Watson's famous rum punches is a staple we always look forward to. The updated rooms were a nice touch, the owners are always continuing to improve the resort, which doesn't go unnoticed!

Already dreaming of escaping the winter and our trip next year! :D

Answer from Shay P
Both are lovely islands with beautiful beaches. Marcus85204 is right in the sense that if staying in the 'new downtown' in Aruba, you will have a lot of places to walk to, however, the beach is quite a bit more crowded. Ports of Call is also centrally located and aside from the onsite shopping plaza that has two restaurants, there are 30+ others within walking distance including a grocery store and several shopping plazas. Children enjoy our onsite plaza as it is pirate themed and they tend to love our billiard and ping pong table beside the pool. There's also kayaks included at our beach that can be taken out with a parent. I should mention there are plenty of excursions (horseback riding on the beach, tubing, wakeboarding, snorkelling, jet skiing, etc.). If your family likes adventure, I would highly recommend a day trip to North and Middle Caicos – it's easy! If you are still in the process of deciding, we're happy to share more information based on what you're looking for. Please don't hesitate to contact our reservations office.

Is there tennis courts near by?
Answer from Shay P
Yes, at Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club which is just one mile down the street.

Rates are currently regulated at $33 for the first one to two passengers and $16.50 for each additional person in your party. I would encourage you to confirm this price with your driver prior. Taxis from the airport are shared in the sense that they will take other travellers staying with us or at nearby properties. They are readily available for you after exiting customs. It's a quick 15-minute drive and Ports of Call tends to be the first stop but if the driver chooses a different route, it would add no more than 10-minutes. By staying at Ports of Call, you have access to what many believe is the best beach (Grace Bay) but there are many others that are definitely worthwhile seeing and unique in their own ways. I would recommend renting a car for one or two days which will allow you ample time to explore other beaches and areas of the island. Since we are centrally located, you can save the cost on paying for a car rental the other days. Parking is included for guests and we have an onsite rental agency that offers discounts to our guests (Caicos Wheels).
