Detailed Reviews
This is the 4th time we have stayed in unit #11 and absolutely love it!! This unit has been tastefully updated and has 3 bedrooms with beds that can be put together or separated into any configuration. There are also 2 full baths that are large, bright and have beautiful showers. The kitchen has all the expected amenities including a dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, full size stove and refrigerator. We always shop at the local supermarket for breakfast, beverages and snack items on the first day to stock the kitchen. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to cook and serve meals if you choose to do so. We really enjoy starting out our day on the screened in balcony that has a view of the ocean. It is also nice to be able to pop up to our room when we are spending time at the pool and grab a snack or drink! This unit has a more formal dining area but if you are like us, we ate on the balcony! The living room is large and has a flat screen tv (who watches tv in paradise)? The unit also has WiFi and we found the signal to be strong enough for us to use it at the back pool. A big plus as well, is that there is a washer and dryer in the unit so we didn't have to pack a ton of clothes and could bring home clean clothes at the end of our stay! The owner has pool noodles and floats, sand toys, and a cooler too. The resort offers 2 big pools, 3 gas grills, tennis, pickleball, paddle boards and kayaks all at no additional cost. When we needed to book a taxi or arrange an activity, the office staff were always there to help. Georgetown with all of its shops is within walking distance and if you're not in the mood to walk, the public buses are cheap and easy to catch. Private taxis are plentiful as well. This by far is the friendliest island in the Caribbean and there are many great dining options too. The host is awesome and we always look forward to returning. There is a lovely mix of owners and vacationers here and a very relaxed vibe overall. We were thrilled to return this year after covid restrictions had postponed previous times. You can book this unit (#11 in Plantation Village) on VRBO and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Beautiful location, beautiful view, beautiful weather, wonderful family vacation! Thanks! Unit was comfortable with three full bedrooms and all amenities. Loved the dishwasher as it was a double unit and easy to run. Also washer and dryer were used often to dry out our wet towels!

Stayed here with colleagues for a business meeting. Generally the accommodation is fine clean and comfortable with good facilities in the unit. Not much in terms of other facilities though the pool is nice and of course immediate access to 7 mile beach is a real bonus. It is however a bit dated. The A/C is not very controllable and the equipment all a bit old . Still it’s fine for a reasonably cheap stay for a family or group

We stayed in Apartment 44 and it was lovely, just right for a multigenerational family of 6.
Apartment had all what was needed and great access to the beach but also two swimming pools.
We were that impressed by Plantation Village that instead of moving to a lovely hotel for the week after children/grandchildren went home 😢we sought out another apartment in Plantation Village and moved to number 69.
Apartment is gorgeous, all facilities (this one has a washing machine and tumble dryer and a more modern feel to it) Really enjoying the whole experience and to be recommended.
Beach snorkelling have seen rays, turtles, barracuda just off the beach at Plantation Village

We arrived on December 31,2022. From the first day we enjoyed ourself. The young lady at the front desk Jadda was so helpful throughout our stay until January 7,2023 until we left. The whole staff were warm and more then helpful. The grounds were clean and pleasant. We stay in #3, which was also very nice. We have visited the Cayman Islands before, but we would definitely stay at the Plantation Beach Resort again. Only hiccup was the pick up of our transport from the airport to the resort. They left and were not waiting for us in airport terminal. Someone called them and they immediately returned and picked us up so, all and all I would use them again. Thanks for a great vacation Cayman Islands.

Very nice condos. Beach was eroded, but then again half of Seven Mile Beach was. It comes and goes with the storms. If you want a nicer section of beach just walk up to the Burger King and take the path across the street to the beach. It is not far at all. We had a rental car and drove further north where is beach is wider and nicer. Dispite the beach, I would recommend Plantation Village. The resorts furhter north along the better streatch of beach will cost you an arm and a leg ($300.00 to $400.00 per night). Plantation Village is $185.00 a night with a full kitchen and everything you would want in it. They even have a stereo system
Not too much activity at resort, but then again Grand Cayman is a very quiet island. Grounds were very nice.
Nice location next door the Treasure Island and Comfort Suites. These two resorts have live entertainment at night.
Resort was very quiet, pools were nice, but walked over to Treasure Island to use their pool because they have a swim up bar and more action.
Supermarket is not walking distance, I don't care what they say.

The Plantation Village Beach Resort is a time share facility that also has rental units. The beach here is minimal, but it is a short walk to the Marriott, where the beach is much wider. We learned from folks who live there, that only the high-end resorts complain if you use their beach. Our tour operator told us that, if asked, she tells hotel staff that she lives in the islands, and they usually say okay -- just don't deprive the guests of a lounge chair. Often we would have lunch at the Mariott, and then claim a lounge chair or two -- we were never hassled about this. One plus in front of the Mariott is the presence of a sort of "fish habitat" - a series of man-made pods with lots of nooks and crannies that are a located a short distance from the shore. These structures attract lots of tropical fish, and snorkeling here is the best I've ever seen from a location right off the beach. One word of caution, if you buy fish food to attract the fish, you'll attract lots of jacks -- large slver fish -- that will overwhelm all the others until the food is gone.
Plantation Village itself is clean and well-maintained, but without a lot of extras. Our unit was on the third floor. There is no elevator, so getting luggage up the steps can be a bit of a workout. For timeshare visitors, they don't change the towels every day. They come in about mid-week and provide new towels and change the linens. You can get fresh beach towels by visiting the laundry -- although I did have one surly exchange with laundry staff because I exchanged beach towels myself since there was no one there at the time.
Plantation Village was fine -- but no frills. Customer service left something to be desired, but this was true throughout the island to an extent. We had a terrible problem with rental car on the first day -- and this seemed the rule rather than the exception judging from the number of car exchanges that were going on. The first night, to make things easy on ourselves, we ate at the Outback Steakhouse. Our car battery died while we were there, and the manager at the Outback intervened with the rental company, and was really tremendously helpful. Kudos to the Outback Steakhouse.
The Cayman Islands are sort of sleepy -- not a whole lot going on at night. Having two teenagers along, we ended up eating at the Hard Rock Cafe on the last night. Food was fine, service was good, and the place was almost empty. For activities, I recommend taking a boat trip to Stingray City, where you can get out and feed the stingrays -- who are quite friendly and have no teeth. The nearby reef is one of the most beautiful I've every seen. We booked our cruise through the Treasure Island Resort nearby.
If you get tired of the beach, take a day trip to the turtle farm and also vist the town named "Hell." My teenagers got a kick out of the t-shirts and bumper stickers.

Plantation Village is like a little community on Seven Mile Beach.. The resort features three bedroom villas centered around a small, well landscaped path that leads to the beach. Likewise, there are two bedroom villas clustered around the back pool. It an easy stroll to the beach from all the villas. The resort is well run. The facilites are clean and the staff are ready and willing to help vacationers with any need. We requested a highchair and a crib. These items were happily provided. The three bedroom villas have tiled floors, well equiped kitchens, two bathrooms, a screened porch with a dining table and chaise lounge. The three bedroom villas also have a nicely furnished living and dining area. The bedrooms will accomodate six people. The master bedroom has a flatscreen TV as does the living area. The resort has a tennis coutt, kayaks, bicycles and several areas for outdoor grilling. There is no charge for using the recreational items. Guests must merely sign up at the front office.for a specific time period. This resort is truly a five star, with exception of the beach. The resort is located towards the end of Seven Mile Beach. This section of the beach is not as wide and pretty. However, the resort's amenities easily make up for this. One still can sit under blue umbrellas along the water. A pool along the ocean provides another scenic spot as does the pool at the back of the resort. One of the nice benefits about this location is the proximity to downtown Georgetown. It is about athirty walk to downtown.

My wife and I just completed a seven day vacation in Cayman with six members of our family, including two teenage sons. Our family vacation at Plantation Village was absolutely perfect. The 3BR condo (unit 28) far exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful week there on seven mile beach at the resort. The Condo was beachfront (as requested through our interval exchange) and afforded beautiful sunsets every night from the spacious, screened 3rd floor patio. It was very clean, fully furnished, valuables safe, and even had tennis equipment, pool floats, snorkel gear, and a cooler and ice chest. The kitchen was very well furnished and we ate most meals at home to save on costs (Cayman is very expensive). The girls in the office were extremely helpful and always pleasant. Jennifer went above and beyond to print out and post on the office a 50 plus page birthday wish message for my wife from her sister in California- all via email and correspondence with the girls who manage the property. The ladies were very helpful in assisting our family with diving and island excursion bookings. Their local knowledge was very helpful. Both swimming pools were awesome and we mostly spent our time at the beach side pool. The Tuesday evening welcome party was held there and you don't want to miss that party. The food and Rum Punch again exceeded our expectations and was well attended by the Plantation Village guests. The resort grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained with daily leaf blowing of debris and trash pick up. There are 3 propane grills available which made for a nice B-B-Q convenience. The tennis courts were lighted and in excellent condition. The beach has suffered quite a bit of erosion, but there is still a small section of sand to sun yourself on and we were always able to save a beach chair. Just a few yards down the beach is the Marriott beach and has plenty of sand and space to spread out or partake in water sports (expensive). The snorkeling amongst the rocks and coral behind the resort was spectacular with hundreds of fish and sea life to observe. The Plantation Village location was perfect. It is close enough to Georgetown to walk there and has several Bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. All excursions and tours/diving operators will pick you up right in front of the office. Overall, we give this resort a 5 star rating and would return here again in the future for another wonderful vacation. We left with zero complaints and not a single person in our family wanted to leave- including the two, hard to satisfy, teenagers. This was a vacation of a lifetime and one we won't soon forget.

I have been going to Grand Cayman every year since 1992 and I have not missed 1 year including the Ivan hurricane year. I have stayed at or visited extensivley every resort on 7 Mile Beach and Plantation Villiage still is one of ther best values on the strip and this is our 3rd time at PV. I have stayed everywhere from the Ritz to the Westin and every where in between but we always seem to end up at PV. I gave it only an OK rating now but this is a temporary rating and the rating will move to "Above Average" once the seawall is completed. I just returned from a trip there 4/21/07-4/28/07 and here is my review. By that way PV is a time share resort/condo resort and the resort as well as some private condo owners rent their condos out by the day. A lot of the bad stories I am hearing about people who have stayed at PV on a time share exchange and were unhappy because daily maid service was not provided is just poor planning on their part. Every time share resort has different policies regarding time share exchanges and PV does not provide daily maid service or towel service with time share exchanges but you can pay for the services if you want them that bad. It is the travelers responsability to ask all these questions before they enter in to an exchange agreement. When we were there last week the weather was just unbelievable and in the high 80's every day with a nice breeze. Ivan really done a number on many resorts and they just spent 5 Mil. in upgrades to the PV resort and opened in the fall of 06 I think. The resort looks great freshly painted with nice landscape. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath full, pool view room, 2nd floor unit that was 1250 sq. feet that was more than comfortable for 4 adults and was $175.00 per night plus taxes. We really enjoyed the screened in terrace. The villa was totally upgraded with new (not refurbed) cabinets, furniture, and appliances, flooring, dishes, pots pans, ect. We had daily maid service (except Sunday) with fresh towels, soap, ect. The unit was spotlessly clean with great bathrooms and when we did cook dinner in the room we found everything we needed. Every time I have been to Cayman there is always some type of building going on near every resort on the beach. Sometimes it may be a problem and most times it is not. AGAIN ask questions!!! The resort is in the process of having a seawall built in front of the beach front condos and it probably wont be finished until the end of June 07. This in turn has closed down the walk way on the North side of the complex from the pool villas/parking lot to the beach so use the walkway that goes through the middle of the resort to get to the beach. This is probably hard for you to imagine if you have never been there but it is not a big deal really and you can see where this walkway is on the PV web sight under resort layout. The noise during the day is excessive I think with loud trucks going back and forth on the North side of the resort (poolside villas not effected) and the workers hammering and pouding all day. Its kind of funny to see PV guests in front of the resort on the beach in a beach chair reading a book with these loud trucks blarring all day and workers pounding. The worst part about the mess is that they have built a wooden bridge (6 steps each side) that goes over the unfinished seawall and you have to walk over this bridge to get to the beach. With all these problems most guests walked next door and used the Marriotts beach but not their facilities. While we could not hear any noise in our pool side villa from the seawall construction there is construction during the day only going on next door to the poolside units of the Tamarind Bay Resort parking lot but we could not hear it. Speaking of the beach 7 Mile Beach is shaped like a big wide horse shoe and the resorts at each ends of the beach like PV have a more narrow beach that comes and goes with the tide an weather and the resorts in the middle of the beach like at the Ritz have a huge lush wide beach that are the best in Cayman. PV has never had a wide beach as far as I can remember like the resorts in the middle of the beach and I have seen the beach there be any where from 20ft. wide to 80ft. wide depending on the tide/weather and this is also why the rates are better than the resorts in the middle of the beach. Keep in mind that there is always enough beach to pull up a chair and relax. Just sometimes when you get off your chair you will have a 20ft. walk to the water and other times a 50ft walk to the water. Again when the seawall is completed all will be back to normal and the rating will go to AA. In my opinion the condos on the North beach side of the resort should not be rented (except owner/timeshare condos) until the sewall is completed and they should just rent out the poolside villas. Many people we spoke to in a beach side villa on the North side said they were woke up daily at 7AM with the loud trucks and workers pounding. Keep in mind non of this stuff would bother most people though. Also keep in mind that with the private owned condos interior upgrades after the hurricane was decided by each condo owner. Some did the bare minimum and others went all the way but they all meet the requirments of the resort. These condos were built in the early 80's and refurbed in 2006 and they are very nice and clean but guys this is a condo complex and as with any condo resort if you are looking for all the amenities and personal services of the Ritz then thats where you need to go because there is no room service or massages here. Staying here is like staying in your own condo and not a hotel. We never had any real bad problems I can think of except one night at 4AM a drunken 20 year old girl came back to their room and pulled the fire alarm by mistake. I realize this can happen at any resort but he noise was soooo loud I can still hear it in my head and it lasted for about 10 minutes and woke up everyone in the poolside units. The resort management seemed very embarrest when asked about this and we waited to see how they were going to handle this?? We thought for sure a complimentary poolside lunch or even maybe a free night was in order here but we didnt get anything, not even an appology and for this they get a stirke one in my book. To sum it up we had a great time and when the seawall is completed all will be back to normal. The girls in the front office do a great job and will make you feel welcome and at home with thier Monday morning coffee on the beach and Wednesday afternoon cocktail party as well as the free bike and cayak rental. There is also2 large fresh water, clean pools that are very nice. You wont find ANY resort on 7 Mile beach that gives you a condo of this size and calibur that is actually on the beach for $175.00 per night in the low season. This is a nice place to stay and extrememly quiet under normal cirmustances with no party crowds. It is still the best value going! Please feel free to email me for dive info, restuarants, attractions, or other resort reports.
Have a great trip at PV!!!

All of the three rooms that we rented had WiFi. According to the resort home page, all of the villas should have WiFi.
There were no dryers in the 3 bedroom unit #3. Which was very upsetting. They do give you beach towels but you will have to wash them if you miss the office hours. Which are not a lot.
Hope this helps

Hi,
There is no shuttle to/from the airport or grocery store. We walked to the grocery store which is not that close. When you come from the airport the taxi driver will be able to point it out. Then you can judge the walk. The grocery store let us take the cart back to the resort. So that made it easier to carry the bags.
Yes, they do have handicap ramps & accessibility. Just make sure you are on the ground floor because there are no elevators.
Yes, they offer free parking. We rented a car and had no problems.
