I truly could tell if I had a problem staying here it would have been my own issue. The few little hiccups were handled extraordinarily. There are always problems in life it's how they are dealt with!

It was an ok hotel. I understand the Covid restrictions and Executive Order in place but I cannot understand why or how my room was not clean. Woke up in the morning and left the room around 8:30 am for breakfast, then to the pool and left the premises for most of the day. By 5:21 pm came back and my room was not clean, no towels, no toiletries. Called the front desk and Magie told me “sorry, it too late now. I can set it up for tomorrow”. I am checking out tomorrow and I was expecting them to handle it differently. Especially when there is a cleaning lady next door who told me the room is not assigned to her.

We appreciate your comments addressed in your review. Our resort has been very responsible with the health and safety guidelines that we follow to make sure the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff are the top priority. All Guest Rooms are cleaned following Ecolab hospitality COVID-19 guidelines. Ecolab has developed multi-surface cleaners that are hospital-grade disinfectants delivering consistent levels of cleanliness. All Guest Room linens are changed out at least every two days, or when requested by the guest if before the minimum established. All beds must be stripped after each guest's stay, even if a bed is not used. Housekeeping will not enter a guest room during a stay unless specifically requested, or approved, by the guest, or to comply with established safety protocols. Housekeeping will maintain the practice of cleaning rooms thoroughly following check-out. A cleaning and disinfection certification seal will be placed in the room after the cleaning service is finished. All protocols listed have been communicated on our website and on all pre-stay emails sent before your arrival. Thank you for visiting our resort and our beautiful island. Regards.

Waiting was the theme of this trip. Check in was a process. It seemed simple enough....check everyone's papers, get your negative covid wristband and move along. This took what seemed a ridiculous amount of time. 3 people at the checkpoint but only one doing anything. Once in, getting to our room was a bit faster but not by much. Our room was freezing cold when we walked in. I tried to turn the fan down but it was either on or off. So I raised the temp as we were unpacking and getting settled in. By the time we finished the room started to get humid and smell musty. Now I know why the air was blasting. One bed was directly in front of a broken vent. I had asked for a blanket for the room several times and it was never delivered. The shower had very little water pressure. Our first full day on the beach/pool we head up to our room around 3p to relax and get ready for dinner. Housekeeping was cleaning our room. I had asked how much longer and was told 10 mins. so we head down to the lobby to wait. I waited 15 to make sure and then headed up. Housekeeping was still in our room. We continued to wait in the hallway for an additional 15 mins. From that day on I had the do not disturb sign on the door. Overall the room was clean but in need of updating. Restaurants....There are only 2! Roots and Iguana. If you plan on having a quick dinner you can forget about it. What would have been and hour or so dinner turned into about 3 hrs each night! It would take almost an hour to get our drink order after already waiting a good 30 minutes to see anyone from the wait staff. We stayed 5 nights and ended up eating the same meal at both places as the menus were limited and not a lot of variety. Food description didn't match what was served. I will say the swordfish at Roots and the Filet at Iguanas were probably the best option....but also very pricey. There is the Grab and Go option for food but again....you are standing in line for a minimum of 30 mins to just place an order and then another good 30 mins or so to get your food. To order a drink anywhere on the resort you must be seated at a table. There is no walking up to the bar and placing an order. Since seating is very limited you had to wait for a table to open up or hope someone is kind enough to let you sit at their table to just place a drink order. The tiki bar food service was probably the worst. After waiting for a table to open up to order some food.....and this was after the lunch hour rush...I was told it would be an hour before I would get my food. I was already beyond hungry. I asked about the other tiki bar, 5'o"clock Somewhere and was told it was the same wait time. Needless to say I had no other option but to wait. Pools......there are 3 but one is for timeshare only. One is the activity pool and the other the quiet pool. Its not very quiet considering its right next to the activity pool and loud music. You must have reservations for pool chairs....as I saw an altercation between two groups about chairs and security had to step in... and it's only for 2.5 hrs. You can't chose where to sit. Unfortunately our chairs were right in front of the main steps into the pool and behind us was the loud music. Not a very relaxing spot. Beach......I didn't realize it was a public beach. There were people bringing coolers and grills and setting up camp. The only private part of the beach was for the timeshare holders. The water was very rough with rip currents. You couldn't swim and a girl had to be rescued from the water and was given CPR on the beach. Very unnerving to witness. Not sure if it was the time of year but the shoreline was covered in sea grass and the wind was so strong you could feel the sand pelting your skin. There was no beach service for food or drink. Again you had to go wait for a table to open up to order. The only thing I didn't have t wait for was checking out. They were quick to finalize my bill and so quick that an error was made and I had received several phone calls from the resorts asking me to call them back. I was on a flight home when I received an email telling me I owed money that and error had been made. I tried calling the resort multiple times to rectify the situation but was always put on hold. I was now home and was still having to wait! I kept receiving phone calls and emails to call the resort. I responded back that I have been calling but continuously been put on hold....longest I held was 15 mins. I finally said for someone to call me and I gave them a day and time to call. This was my first and last trip to Puerto Rico. I was very disappointed as I had read and heard good things. For the price of what I spent I could have stayed at a much nicer resort elsewhere. I recommend keeping all your receipts for meals ,drinks etc so you have an idea of what you spent at checkout. The resort is a good 40+ mins from San Juan with nothing much around so you are truly limited. The resort was very understaffed for the amount of people staying there.

I was unhappy with my room as it felt dirty and humid. We had mold on most lampshades, the floor grout and rug was dirty. Rug under the bed had stains and the ceiling was peeling. The room just felt humid and muggy plus there was no fan in the bathroom. I dont plan on going back because while I did address this to management they changed one lamp shade and did not try to help me change the room. The shower pressure was low and the bathroom mirror was rusting. I also had a rollaway bed and my back and neck was hurting, I can feel the spring coils and I only way 100lbs! It was not comfortable at all.

We took our kids down to the Wyndham for Sprig Break and it was wonderful! The staff was very helpful and kind. The food was good and fairly priced. The pool was great and my kids wore out the water slide. The slide was nothing fancy but the kids loved it. I have a 5, 7 and 10 year old and they would love going back and forth to the beach and back to the pool We actually stayed in a family suite and adjoined another king size room. We could have all stayed in the family suite but it was nice to have a little more room. Ask for the top room if available as the view is much better and doesn’t get blocked by the trees. We ate at several restaurants and all of the food was really good. Our favorites were probably 5 o’clock somewhere and Iguanas for casual dining. Roots was just okay, I think because the other places were outdoors and we were enjoying the weather. The Iguanas restaurant was perfect to meet the family up there afterwards because it at the golf course which is just a 2-3 minute van ride from the shuttle. We played both golf courses and they are really good tracks. The Ocean course is a lot easier than the river course… In the afternoon it gets really windy. The casino was just ok but it got your gambling fix in. My word of advice about leaving the property and doing excursions… you want to book this ahead of time… a lot of excursions and adventures were already full and only can book at 1/3 and ½ capacity. We booked a booze cruise that was perfect and it was about $100 - $150 / person ahead of time, ziplines were completely full when we got down there and I literally all but harassed to get my kids on those. It paid off but was very hard to do. The rain forest was also booked and we couldn’t get in there either. We are very adventurous when we travel so we like doing excursions but this hotel you really don’t need to leave the property if you don’t want to… plenty to do, great spots to eat. They also have mini fridges in the room so it’s nice to keep some drinks in there. The masks and covid policies are in effect and they do a great job keeping everyone safe and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place and hopefully one day will return to Puerto Rico.
