Just returned from a great stay at Link House Rowan, the owner, had thought of everything and his breakfasts were amazing - my favourite were the the Eggs Florentine! Rowan even managed to lend us a map so we could head straight to the mountains after loosing ours the day before. Cycle and walking friendly including a drying room and...

We spent 3 nights at Link house, a combination of double and single rooms being its main initial attraction as we have a teenage son. We booked directly through owner's website which gave a discount for pre-paying customers. Apart from that the website also offers a lot of information on the area and useful tips on eating out, parking, local...

After looking at lots of places to stay in the lake district for our honeymoon, once we saw this place there was no doubt it had to be the one! Our choice was perfect, Rowan looked after us superbly, showing us around the accommodation and giving us advice on the area. They layout of the house was just perfect and...

Lovely guest house in peaceful surroundings, not too far from Keswick or Cockermouth. I found the room excellent and comfortable, with everything you would need. I really loved Rowan's homemade granola for breakfast, with all the choices fo fruit, a great choice of cooked options too. .

Rowan is a brilliant host who looked after 12 of us when we visited the Lake District to complete a 10 peak challenge for charity. Went out of his way to accommodate us all including 5am breakfast cobs and packed lunches for the walk. I would highly recommend staying at The Link House for a comfy stay. Thank you again...

We stayed here May bank holiday, in a room with a great mountain view. The area was very peaceful compared to Keswick or Windermere which were packed with the usual bank holiday crowds. Right next to bassenwaithe lake, which was beautiful. Also awesome granola and great hospitality. Would definitely recommend.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Link House is a late Victorian Country Guest House, situated on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake, near the Cumbrian towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, with stunning views of both forests and fells. Traditionally built in the late Victorian age, this country house enjoys stunning views of the forest and surrounding fells including the 3046 feet Skiddaw. The sunny aspect gives a warm and comfortable atmosphere in which to relax and feel at home. We are situated almost half-way between the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth and the oldest town in Cumbria, just off the A66 at the northern tip of Bassenthwaite Lake. Link House is easy to find. In the quieter part of the Lake District National Park, yet with access to many interesting places to visit such as the Whinlatter Visitor Centre where the Ospreys who nest nearby each year, can be viewed. A peaceful location for the serious walker or for touring by car: everyone claims that — but here it’s true! ... more   less
