Our third visit to this lovely hotel in the last 12 months. This really is a delightful place and a perfect base for a stay in the North Lakes. Friendly and helpful staff, extensive dinner menu with a choice of formal or informal dining, great breakfast, comfortable well appointed rooms and superb views.

A real gem of a Hotel. Very friendly staff, and small enough to provide personalised service. The rooms were comfortable and meticulously presented. The views are to die for, and we could not fault the overnight stay experience.

My wife and I spent 4 days and 3 nights at the hotel. We love the view from our room (No.1). It's the view we enjoyed the most among all hotels we have ever stayed in. You get to hear cute sound of the sheep and horses before you go to bed and wake up with them. You can also...

The gentleman who took care of us on the evenings could not have done anymore to make our stay any better. The food is absolutely brilliant. The room was cosy and very comfortable. I will definitely be staying here again...

We stayed for two nights and can highly recommend this hotel for a quiet relaxing break away in the Lakes. There are lots of walks nearby, and you can walk down to the lake and around nearby woodlands from the hotel. The bistro at the hotel has a fantastic range of food and professional staff made us both feel very...

Stayed for 3 nights over last weekend and can recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. The location was excellent for touring around the many lakes and the view from the terrace at the front was amazing. Our room was comfortable, very clean and the home baked cookies were much appreciated. We dined in the hotel each evening and the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ravenstone Lodge is a converted 19th Century stables & lodge with many original features including the stables themselves which are now the bar. Situated at the foot of Ullock Pike close to Skiddaw with views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the Northern Fells we are perfectly positioned to explore the Northern Lake District.Ravenstone Lodge is a privately small hotel with just 9 bedrooms and because of this we can provide a uniquely personal service and when you stay with us you are not just a room number but are our guests in the true meaning of the word. Because of this many return time and time again, maybe requesting their favourite room or that a particular dish be put on the menu. Food is very important to us and our philosophy is very simple, top quality locally sourced ingredients cooked to order by our resident chef with sufficient choice to satisfy all tastes. We look forward to welcoming you to Ravenstone Lodge.Mike Cornish - Proprietor ... more   less
