This is our first time to a sandals resort and it was amazing , we love the Jamaican food , we loved the music , we love the culture so much , huge shoutout to the fitness guy Rajay or what we call him Mr. Dimples, he made our entire vacation fun and active , my husband and I never missed a day of water aerobics, we will be back for sure !!!
Stayed in the new bungalows very nicely decorated and super clean resort (very clean and sanitizer everywhere). Our butlers Shawne and Tennel were fabulous! So friendly and provided exceptional service! The front desk staff (Ramone) to the waiters, to the bartenders at the quiet bar, and Junior the lifeguard everyone was super friendly and helpful! Wonderful service, great room, highly recommend!
Be aware!! I have had many massages within Sandals and outside of Sandals and this facility was extremely poor. This is apparent with the staff standing outside of the facility trying to get guests into their facility
This was our 2nd trip to Southcoast. Once again, we were treated like royalty! Here are a couple of things to make your stay even better. 1. Make dinner reservations for Schooners and Eleanors immediately upon arrival. Go to culinary desk in lobby. 2. If you are an early riser, let housekeeping know and your room will be cleaned before noon. 3. Take the Garden Tour with Recardo. He is very knowledgeable about all the plants, trees and shrubs. 4. The YS Falls tour is additional money, but we'll worth it. The guides are fabulous with taking pictures and getting you safely up the falls. 5. The French Village rooms are in need of refurbishing, but we love the location so we chose to stay. 6. Pickleball coaching with Norman really increased our level if play. 7. Do enjoy the CBD massage at the spa. Again, well worth the extra cost. Best vacation ever!!…
Beautiful property, very quiet if you want it to be. Very active if you want to hang by the pool. Great diving crew and convenient as the boats are all on the property. Food was average in most restaurants the exception being Schooners lobster supper was superb and the Lamb chops at Giuseppe’s also a big hit!
Only minor issue was the lounge chairs in the swim up area needs to have removable patting; as they every uncomfortable. We had to use many towels in order to use. Room Service was excellent. Lighting in the living area could stand to be increased.
We stayed for 10 days in January 2023-club level Italian village beachfront walkout. We enjoyed our stay. Shout out to Melissa and Javel who made our cabana days wonderful. LaShauna and Aliea took great care of us during our couple's massage. Kenroy was very helpful on the beach. We took the Sandals private transportation to and from the resort-Wendell and David made the long drives enjoyable. Overall the food was good and the service in the restaurants was good. The beach is nice if you plan to lay on the beach in the sun. The ocean is part of a nature preserve and has a lot of sea grass. So if you like to wade/swim in the ocean, this is NOT the place to do it. There are areas where the ocean is somewhat more clear, but this will usually involve a long walk and is not convenient. The resort is fine, but not outstanding, and it is WAY over-priced! We have been to other all inclusive resorts (Secrets and Excellence) and we have enjoyed them more (saving about 1/3 of the price we paid at Sandals.) The rooms at the other resorts were larger and better equipped; our room was not much larger than a standard hotel room. The bathroom at this Sandals was very small; one sink with bath/shower combo and toilet in same space as bath/shower. Beachfront in our case involved a walk of 30-40 yards across a courtyard. Our walkout "patio" was barely large enough to accommodate two chairs and a small cocktail table. And I think it is a rip-off that you have to pay to be at club level or else you can't get room service. Seriously? They say the little things make a difference and this was very true with our stay: 1. Club level for us included a bar in our room. The bar was nice but the quality of the liquor was sorely lacking. Romaine approached us on the beach one day (see #9 below) and we asked if it was possible to get a better bottle of vodka (Tito's) for our room. He told us it would either be in our room or he would return to explain to us why he could not provide it - never got the vodka and never saw him again. 2. The large jacuzzi that is a main feature of the courtyard outside our room NEVER worked (even after we used "the loop" to inquire about it.) 3. The ice machine nearest our room was broken 8 out of the 10 days we were there (again notified the loop). 4. The drain in the bath/shower was broken. 5. Housekeeping left the sliding doors to our patio walkout unlocked after visiting one day. 6. Visible stain on counter from coffee maker AFTER housekeeping visit. 7. Restaurants had no Pinot Grigio or Cabernet for at least two days. 8. "Public" men's rooms outside Bayside restaurant and near Dutch pool both had hand dryers that didn't work; "towels" provided to dry your hands were no more than tissues. 9. At some resorts you find yourself getting "hassled" by peddlers on the beach. Here we were approached by Sandals employees. At least 3-4 times a day we were approached to book a spa appointment or book a photography session or book our next stay at Sandals. ENOUGH - I am on a quiet beach reading a book in the shade...I don't wish to be bothered. …
We loved the serenity of South Coast. It is a beautiful resort that offers something for everyone. Our butlers were good. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We did notice that the service at the restaurants was slow at times and the food quality was not as good as we had in the past at previous Sandals. We were happy to be part of the first group when the lunch buffet was brought back. Our couples massage was the best!!!
We dined at Sushi on the Sands this evening. Just a fabulous dining experience. We actually ate here last night and it was sooo good, we decided to return this evening. Converted Sushi lovers! Beautifully created, fresh and extremely tasty food, some hot, crispy dishes and all bursting full of flavour. Chefs and staff amazing! Questos met us on the beach yesterday to introduce the restaurant and served us this evening. Many staff here are pleasant, but he really is exceptional. Professional, courteous, friendly, well informed and such a warm and fun character. He is an absolute asset to the Sandals team of staff. Please can we take him home to our business in the U.K.?!
If you’re contemplating Sandals South Coast, go ahead and book because you will not be disappointed! We booked SSC a year ago for our wedding. We had about 60 guests in attendance and used a travel agent to help coordinate it all. My then fiancé/now husband stayed 1/14-1/24 in the Rondovals. The Rondoval room was spectacular. Spacious, cool a/c, and comfortable. We enjoyed the selection of drinks. Housekeeping was great, and we never went without clean towels and fresh toiletries. Room 4115 has early morning shade and late morning/afternoon sun. We had KEVIN and ROMAINE as our butlers, and they were exceptional! Request them for when you go! They listened to our wishes, and were timely, professional and fun. We had never utilized butlers before, but they made the experience a great one. We would definitely request them again. They work so incredibly hard for their guests, and it shows. We did fill out the butler form ahead of time, but things change / evolve during the stay and they adjusted accordingly. Kevin drove me and my dad to the wedding ceremony site and kept my nerves at bay with fun stories, jokes and well wishes. He also saw us off at departure, and it was like having to tell a family member goodbye. He has such a kind heart and deserves the highest recognition possible. Our wedding was on 1/20. When I say the wedding planning team was incredible, I mean they were beyond anything we ever expected. Both TALLIA and RITA were absolutely amazing. Everything was handled with such ease and professionalism. They took our wishes and visions and executed them perfectly. They helped coordinate our Welcome Cocktail Party in the ballroom complete with mic, speaker and ability to play a special video we had recorded beforehand. I did bring various items such as some decor, guest book and Polaroid camera, cake topper, memorial candle, etc. They coordinated the wedding day perfectly, and I never had to wonder if something was going to happen correctly or on time. The flow of the entire day was perfect. Rita assisted with our cake cutting and toast, and it was so much fun and a nice surprise/local touch to the day’s events. We had the ceremony at the wedding garden, the cocktail party at the Italian jacuzzi with a steel drum band, and the reception at the upper courtyard. I will say, the steak dinner was subpar and meat was super tough for all guests, but I know it is difficult to execute nearly 50-60 steaks all at once. It did not dampen the day, though. Our DJ Bryan kept everyone - literally every single guest - on the dance floor the entire night. He was so much fun - request him! We brought our own photographers from the states who have been nothing but amazing from the start of our engagement through the wedding. CASSEANNA did my hair and makeup at the spa and was wonderful. She truly honored what I asked and made changes when needed. She was kind and helpful. We mostly stayed at the French pool during the day as we had so many guests there. I want to recognize the following bartenders: CLAYTON (aka Dimples!), KIMBERLEY, DESRICK, TYRONE, JAHNELLE. They were so accommodating, sweet, friendly and fun. They work non stop to make guests happy. They also would remember us each day and greet us like old friends. On one occasion we overheard some other guest make a rude and inappropriate comment to Jahnelle, and she never lost her composure or professionalism. We have the utmost respect for her, and I hope she knows she is valued. We got to know only a couple of the entertainment team members, but those that stood out were KEEMO SABE and MARKEETA. Their energy is infectious! They never missed a beat to make you laugh or smile. Their performances at night were incredible. Markeeta also had some very kind, encouraging and inspiring words for one of our friends that she will never forget. We enjoyed the dinner food at Giuseppe’s, Sushi, and Neptunes the most. Guiseppes dinner: linguine with shrimp (sooo spicy and delicious), chicken parm and lamb chops. The Neptunes cioppino was incredible. We mostly utilized our room service for breakfast but really enjoyed the Bayside buffet. The live music and DJ at Neptunes at night were a fun way to end the day. We will definitely be back at some point! We know our 60 guests had the best time as well. 10 magical days we will never soon forget! Thank you Sandals South Coast for incredible hospitality.…
