Great campsite, amazing & friendly staff. We had a very nice time there and enjoyed it very much. I can really recommend the activities like bush walks and fire making with the San. At Dqae Qare Game Farm you will find the real, authentic San experience. If you're anywhere near – go there!

Camning amenities were basic but more than expected, and more than adequate. The experience was incredible, and one that will never leave me. The place was bursting with green, but I long to see the place in the dead of winter. The most noteworthy points of my journey were all of my interactions with Cow-ha (sorry for the horrific spelling)...

Thank you so much for this incredible review, what an experience. Of course let us not forget that you set this up, you traveled half way across southern Africa in an old Tazz, slept under a piece of plastic, and allowed six nights with the San. That is amazing and they will always respond to that. Perhaps there should be...

We stayed one night at the Dqae Qare camp and had the most unforgettable experience learning from the kind and gentle Bushmen. Our two girls, ages 3 & 5, are still talking about our bush walk, telling their friends how to make traps and fire. It was such a genuine and wonderful experience for all of us. Our only regret...

Thank you so much Corenadun, it is always heart warming that the kids enjoy the experience. The San have such an amazing approach to child raising, typically gentle and very much hands on. I find it amusing how one of the guys will always grab a kid, if there's one around, to go switch on the generator or fetch something....

This place offered exactly what I was looking for - a peek into the life of Southern Africa's hunter gatherers in a way that was respectful, minimally-disruptive, and provided much needed income to that community. If you're interested in being a responsibly traveller seeking to learn about Bushmen FROM Bushmen by DOING traditional Bushmen activities, choose this place.

We spent two camping nights visiting Dqae in June. Kaoga was particularly accommodating. He took time including our children in everything especially showing them how to make great bow and arrows with the specific woods. We loved making fires with him the traditional Najro way and listening to the age old legends which re recounted over the fire. I was...

What a lovely review, thank you so much, I am impressed just how much you got out of it, really special for the kids too. It is very motivating to get it right and we share all reviews with the staff and the village Board, they are very proud

After an unfortunate encounter with a sharp rock on the way to the lodge, two young men appeared to offer needed assistance. An excellent introduction to hospitality we enjoyed during our too brief stay. The room, dinning tukel and pool were excellent and the late night Wildebeest visitors outside our door a wonderful treat. When back in the area, we...

Thank you so much for the review. I believe I know that rock. I keep driving past it because it will require a ten pound hammer to dislodge it. Better go do my job then :) Sorry for the hassle though the San are amazing with their hands, they can sort out any practical problem and are legendary among farmers...

All staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in the camping area, basic facilities, but all in good conditions. Food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. Definitely go on a guided bush walk! It's quite an experience.

We so appreciate this feedback, thank you so much. The San are achieving these results in 2016 entirely through their own efforts. Having decades of experience is this field, globally, I am convinced that Dqae Qare is unprecedented as a community run enterprise. We hold the accounts and reservations in the background but will start the long process of bringing...

I spent three weeks here. The opportunity to spend time with the San hosts, watch their trance dances, learn about their traditional techniques of hunting and gathering was a remarkable privilege. Hands down, the best way to experience the Kalahari. This lodge offers something that nowhere else can: to see Botswana through the lens of the oldest continuous culture on...

It was a rare privilege to have a man of your talent and passion for the San on this farm for such an extended period of time. I've stayed here many times, alone and with friends. This is the only San-owned game farm in all of Africa and perhaps the world. Amazing experience to sit in the late afternoons and watch the wildebeest come to drink. Strongly reccommend...

You have become a great friend Peggy and we miss you already. There are enough crazy, wonderful, eccentric folk in Santa Cruz, come back!
