We stayed here 1 night in Aug due to there being no accommodation available in Sterling. We stayed in a Family Room as there were 3 adults. The room consisted of a double bed & a single bed. The room was quite basic considering the price we paid. It cost us 40 pound per person, 120 pound which is equivelant...

Once parked in the handy car park entrance to the 'Bar and Reception' was through a narrow back corridor past the 'Gents'. Squeezing myself and my small case through the packed bar to check in was tricky as was negotiating the same packed bar half an hour later to pay for my nights stay in advance. After a false start...

Some rooms are nicer than others. I had a front room which was excellent-quaint, clean, lovely decor. The restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinner. The innkeeper went above and beyond helping us get to the train station on time. THANK YOU! Within walking distance to Doune Castle.

We came across this hotel and wasn't it great. Met with lots of locals. Could not complain about anything. Nice food, good service. It was not far from sterling and the castle. Duone castle was just a short walk. Ryans from Australia

We visited this B & B in August, the first impressions were good but they need to finish off some elements to make it better. The room was comfortable but the bathroom shower was missing tiles and had mould in the shower tray. Breakfast was good and hot, the staff were friendly, overall it could be a nice little pub...

We came across this lovely, well maintained inn by chance & we were so glad we did as we were made feel so welcome. We had drinks in a cosy bar with a lovely tartan carpet which reflected its Scottish atmosphere. It serves superb local ales & also local cola which was gorgeous. We didn't eat but the food looked...

Friendly staff, rooms were ok, pretty basic. Would recommend eating in village rather than inn, the castle is a short walk, used in game of thrones and Monty python. The village is a stop over up to the Highlands, but reckon we would do it in one trip next time.

We spent a night at the Red Lion Inn before our visit to Doune Castle. The rooms were comfortable and well laid out, and both the pub and restaurant were excellent -- great food at a good value. Incredibly friendly staff.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Red Lion Inn, Doune. With warm welcomes from the Landlord, Bar Staff and the locals, we settled into our cosy, well decorated room before going down into the pub restaurant for our evening meal. Fantastic food and great menu. Would highly recommend the Red Lion as a place to stay....
