From when we walked into the front room on a chilly day and were greeted by fresh flowers, two spaniels and a roaring fire. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was sumptuous. Our waiter at the Copper Dog and whisky aficionado, Angus, was a pleasure to talk to and we

We have stayed and eaten here several times and will keep coming back! Just over an hour away from home for us, it's the perfect spot to enjoy fabulous food after a lovely walk along the river. Dog friendly, a great selection of beers, gins, whisky and wine plus warm hospitality

Lovely hotel. Very comfortable rooms, tastefully furnished. There is a very nice lounge with good selection of books. The staff are friendly. The Craigellachie hotel is perfectly located to explore the distillaries of Speyside.

No they do not have AC and very few hotels in Scotland do. Probably only the new ones. Normally you do not need AC in Scotland unless it is a summer like this one. If road noise is an issue, bring ear plugs. I had the windows open and I was fun, esp. since I am sensitive to the heat.

Are they still painting the interior of the hotel
the painting was not the problem for us , it was the poor attitude , road noise ( which cannot be avoided ) , the dirty rooms , restaurant and bar . We visited the Station hotel in Rothes at the weekend & the ambience , service & dining was of a far far higher standard . but if you book to stay book a suite towards the back as it is also on the road . The cooperage at Aberlour is definitely worth a visit & Glenfiddich visitor centre .. further afield Elgin Cathedral ( ancient ruins ) & Lossiemouth beach / walk to lighthouse is wonderful too . have a great trip .
