This is a lovely place with great food, huge selection of drinks and excellent staff. The location is stunning. Interior is lovely but oh the exterior is so disappointing a real own goal. Let's start a crowd fund to pay for a new paint job.
The Craigellachy Hotel offers beautifully arranged guest rooms, an elegant lounge and whiskey bar with an impressive collection of whiskeys. The personnel is friendly and accommodating.
Our room was neat and quiet. We really liked the old-fashioned and elegant interior of the hotel.
Had lunch with friends at the Copper Dog on Monday. It was excellent. Ambience, cleanliness, staff, gin choices were all first class. The food was very, very good. All 6 of us were impressed. I have been here on many occasions in the past but...More
We went through a very painful reservation-cancellation-reservation-cancellation process. Not a good start. The place is a decent base camp for whisky tours. Make sure you have a car or get a cab (slightly complicated). You can even walk through the woods to Macallan distillery. Not...More

the painting was not the problem for us , it was the poor attitude , road noise ( which cannot be avoided ) , the dirty rooms , restaurant and bar . We visited the Station hotel in Rothes at the weekend & the ambience , service & dining was of a far far higher standard . but if you book to stay book a suite towards the back as it is also on the road . The cooperage at Aberlour is definitely worth a visit & Glenfiddich visitor centre .. further afield Elgin Cathedral ( ancient ruins ) & Lossiemouth beach / walk to lighthouse is wonderful too . have a great trip .
