Room and bathroom nice clean and cozy, furniture quite outdated, but hey who's using much furniture for one night sleep?!
Every single room has the chance to see the most fantastic sunset over Huron Lake (if windows were clean).
Food is good, tasty and hearty, but for a person who doesn't eat Indian food, has a pretty strong Indian flavour.
Overall it was a night nice spent on our way back home from Thunder Bay

We stopped here on our way home from Marathon and we’re pleasantly surprised with the friendly staff and spotless room but it was the spectacular sunset view if the channel that was the biggest surprise. The owner was friendly and with a $20 surcharge our dog was welcomed. The restaurant wasn’t opened, hopefully by next year, but there is a Tim Horton’s right across the street.

I stayed at this hotel with my mom for 3 nights September 2023. The hotel is located in a beautiful location and the views from the room very nice. My first impression of my room was that it was clean but dated. Our bathroom was newly renovated and updated, but the room itself still had a very old carpeting and old furnishings. These things didn’t really bother me so much. The bed is firm, a little firmer than my personal preference but is something I can look past. The hotel really needs to invest in new pillows though. My room was 2 queen beds with 3 pillows on each bed and every pillow was hard and lumpy. I highly recommend bringing your own pillow.
The hotel is very basic. Not once did we have housekeeping come in to refresh the room which for this particular visit didn’t bother me as I didn’t spend much time in my room. It was basically a place for me to lay my head at night. We were a couple doors down from the laundry so if it was important for me to have fresh towels I feel I could have easily had some exchanged.
There is also no clock in the room but these days most people have a cell phone they can use as an alarm.
We had a room closer to the highway but traffic noise was not an issue. It was surprisingly quiet and muted. I think the hotel has many updated rooms, unfortunately we didn’t get one of those as I booked last minute as I needed to be “home” for a celebration of life. The hotel was booked solid, I think with a lot of work crews as there were several construction vehicles and dump trucks parked off to the side at the hotel.
Would I stay here again? The answer is yes, but would request an updated room and would bring my own pillow.
I’d also like to mention there was a fridge and microwave in the room.

Welcoming and Accommodating Hosts. Exceptional Location.

Overall location on the lake with private beach and views from the rooms make this resort high 'value for money' and even more important restful for body and soul.

The operators of this amazing and beautiful located resort warmly greet and make it clear to their guests upon arrival that they are to serve and provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience.

Accommodations may be physically modest by some standards but are notable in terms of cleanliness, tidiness and beds are comfortable. In room amenities of a small fridge, microwave and flat screen TV add to your comfort.

Hot and delicious meals and snacks are provided as take out or outdoor patio served in compliance with COVID requirements.

I was there for an 8 day stay on family bereavement duty and the resort owners accommodated my every need as a guest during this time.

Grateful for your hospitality. Felt like I was staying with relatives.

Steve

The owner was the rudest person I have met in my life. He said we had no reservation, and when I showed him the confirmation email, he shrugged his shoulders and gave us a room where the air conditioning didn’t work. Their website said the restaurant was open until 9, he said it was closed and to go to Tim Hortons. Fortunately there was a lovely lady in town who felt sorry for us and made us burgers. Don’t stay there…. Good luck if you do!

I booked my original date for my stay through Expedia. But needed to move it by 2 days. I called the hotel directly about that and they said it would be "no problem at all". Unfortunately I was then charged for both the original date as well as the second date. The hotel itself charged me directly for the second date and I did not know at that time that a charge had already been processed by Expedia. The owner could have just charged the difference (the second date was a higher amount), in the spirit of good customer service, but instead charged the full amount. In trying to speak to the owner once I realized the 2 charges, he was aggressive and did not let me explain my perspective and the line went silent as I was speaking - he had hung up on me. I was polite and calm, but unfortunately this is what customer service seems to have been reduced to. In looking at other reviews here it seems there is a consistent thread of poor service. Anything for an extra buck it seems.

My wife and I stayed at the Carolyn Beach Inn for one night while doing a northern tour by motorcycle. Check in was done through a take out style window. Maybe a bit overkill but the manager/owner was doing his best to keep everyone safe and really inside/outside who cares?

We enjoy staying at these small motels while travelling especially when you park right outside your door. Room was dated but clean, comfortable and enjoyable. Location was fantastic with it being right on Lake Huron. We sat outside reading by the water for a couple of hours.

We got take out from the restaurant and although it seemed to take a long time , the food was very good.
We would stay here again

I pre booked rooms 5 months prior to our stay. When we arrived after a long day of travel with 5 seniors our rooms were not ready even though I had received a voicemail earlier in the day telling me they were ready. We waited 1/2 hour before we could get into the office(3:30 pm) before the owner would open the front door. I had pre booked the waterview rooms in the motel behind the restaurant to arrive and find we had all been moved to the motel facing the trans Canada highway! We then went up to the dining room for dinner and sat for 2 hours before any food was brought to the table! Not even bread. The owner did not come over once to apologize for the wait. Tables were turned twice in the time it took us to get our overcooked meals. The location is very nice but the service is terrible. Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone under present management!

On July 19 I called the Carolyn Beach Inn to make a booking, the man who answered with a strong accent, told me that he could not make a booking but told me to do it by Expedia. I then made the booking through Expedia for July 23 and got a confirmation e-mail.
We arrived at 7:00 pm on July 23 after driving for 8 hours and were told by an East Indian man, that our booking had been cancelled by Expedia. (We later spoke with Expedia, and they stated that they had not cancelled, and they would investigate further).
The man stated that he was just the booking clerk, but would not identify himself by name. He said that the owner and manager were not available, and he would not provide their names. I suspected he was either the owner or manager and was further lying to me.
I asked to see the e-mail for the cancellation, but he would not show me anything from Expedia to indicate that they had cancelled the booking.
I have never left a hotel review before, but I feel that the people running this Inn cannot be trusted, this person lied to me, was unhelpful and disrespectful. He caused my wife great upset and left us without accommodation in a remote area.

Rooms ,although dated, were very clean. Menu had excellent home made selections that could be ordered and taken to your room. Social distancing was a 100% process, so you always felt safe. This time we stayed for 2 nights just to relax in the midst of our drive. The view is awesome with the sound of the waves lapping at the shore just outside your room.
