We ended a two-week trip to Northern Kenya with a 2-night stay at Lewa House. We had a wonderful experience - the private reserve had great scenery and animals (including the rare black rhino, and many interesting birds). Lewa House itself was wonderfully organized. The room was very comfortable, private, and clean, with a view of the watering hole so...

We are seasoned African travelers so we are aware of the quality of Safari Lodges throughout East Africa. The beauty and unique styling of the lodges at Lewa house, however, and their setting, was as unexpected as it was pleasing. The beautifully designed and crafted lodges are a delight. They are as comfortable and practical as they are elegant. The...

Hosts Sophie and Callum - and their two pet dogs - together with a universally friendly and helpful staff make this lodge rather special. There are lots of five star safari lodges in sub-Saharan Africa. This one is particularly good. The hosts truly make you feel at home and part of the family in a way we have not experienced...

I lived in Kenya for 5 years, doing safaris all the time as they were an easy drive from Nairobi, or flights from Wilson to Lamu. Lewa remains my equal favourite place to go (along with Lamu). The thing that sets Lewa apart is the service and empathy of the people that run the place. The care they have is...

We absolutely loved our time at Lewa. It really felt like visiting our long-lost relative, we were made to feel so at home! My daughter ran and played with Sophie & Calum's daughter (mostly chasing after the dog!), and she even went horseback riding with us. The ride was certainly a highlight - I never imagined I could get so...

Beautiful setting in the middle of wildlife park, outstanding lodge with individual houses including large room, bathroom, porch. Large bed with mosquito net. The service is fantastic. You get wake-up coffee and home made cookies. The main lodge/dining/bar area is great for relaxing and enjoying a drink at the fireplace. Dinner with the hosts is delicious. Wildlife shows up in...

All extremely perfect. The cottege's bedroom elegantly furnished. Tasty and well served food. The hospitality of the owner is unique and special. The villa is perfectly placed in the reserve. The safari is included in the price. It's included also the aperitif at 6 pm on the top of the William hill. It's really a romantic atmosphere.

This was a family reunion celebrating a 40th birthday. Sophie and Calum, as owner/hosts, could have done nothing more to make this a trip of a lifetime. The staff were there for our every need. The food was delicious, the driver/guides were exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful and caring. Each day we woke to another exciting outing which had been planned and...

What an amazing start to our first trip to Kenya!!!! We travelled here as a group of four celebrating our dear friend Katie's 40th Birthday! Arriving via private charter to the airstrip near Lewa House was definitely a "Wow" moment. We had certainly arrived to the wilds of Africa! After meeting our lovely host Liam, we were escorted to our...

We visited Lewa House while on a multiple location safari trip in August 2015. Our itinerary was created by consummate pros, Brownell Travel, and was truly spectacular. All of the places we visited were outstanding, but we were especially impressed with the owners and staff of Lewa House. Sophie and Calum are the the best. They are charming, delightful, very...
