Detailed Reviews
Lovely setting on lake beneath mountains. Walk to town. Beware of winds which roar up the lake without warning. But, we were confronted with a closed gate. Found an elderly man who told us off for not having a reservation, yet there was one tent & one Motorhome & acres of space. We had seen the lake & just turned off on spec to see if there was availability. He had a moan about the British not knowing where they wanted to be, no reservations. Made to feel unwanted so we left next day. Sanitary blocks ok. Washing up facility had hot water. Pity that we too had to comment on the unhappy old gent! Had to move the Motorhome away from a tree in the wind & a younger man gave us permission & was fine.

Beautiful location on the lake side. Very clean bathroom.
However, with your tent you are left to find your spot in a field, which is located on the lake but was pretty cramped and far from the toilets and showers.
Unfortunately, the night was spoiled by two (!) groups of campers who could not give a sh.. about the others and, worse:
the manager was not there and did not answer the phone. Had to call the police (117, so you know...) to stop things getting out of hand.
Will not go there again.

Planned to go camping with some friends there. The receptionist was so unfriendly and rude that we decided to leave and travel a few kilometers further to Bad Ragaz and camp there. Nonetheless, the lake is very beautiful, but without such people it would be even more enjoyable. Cheers.

The location is an absolute insider tip and a sunset spot par excellence. The small green area for camping vehicles, located right on the lake, is also well-kept. The rest are charming houses for long-term campers. The only point deducted is for the old sanitary facilities, which could be cleaned a bit better. You can't complain about the price if you go camping in Switzerland. Everything is a bit more expensive here than in Germany or Austria. The owners are a bit simple-minded, but friendly. We were here for 9 days and felt comfortable.
