This is a place everyone should visit, if possible, it is so relaxing. It’s a magnificent building set in glorious countryside and with superb gardens. The staff, the room’s, the food and drink - you cannot fault.

We stayed from Christmas Day for 4 nights so we could visit relatives in the area, from the moment we arrived at the hotel quite late at night we were greeted with a very warm welcome at the car where our luggage was taken to our room while we relaxed in the lounge with a glass of complimentary champagne. From that moment until we checked out the staff and service were just so nice, helpful, friendly, funny and caring. You felt like you were staying with family friends, there was nothing which was too much or wouldn't be done to make the stay as perfect as possible. We enjoyed our visit so much we extended an extra night and upgraded to a suite (which was the size of a large apartment!). Breakfast was lovely, dinner and afternoon tea was delicious and being able to relax in various lounges, play games or have a drink by an open fire was really festive. Very posh gym, (Cant wait for the spa to open) - and the grounds were so well kept it was like having a National Trust to yourself. Beautiful part of the country, I'd not be able to recommend Hawkstone highly enough. We've both travelled well and declared this our favourite hotel in the world! :) p.s the standards and care taken around Covid made us feel very comfortable to be in the communal areas and dining rooms, great work!

Dear Sjr202, Thank you very much for your lovely 5-star review. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your time with us over the Christmas period. I am so glad that you felt at home with us as that is what we pride ourselves on. We want all our guests to feel totally relaxed and at home with us and anything that our team can do to assist in that is done with no question. I am so happy that you enjoyed your room and I feel like the room in question is our Wordsworth Suite, which, as you said is truly spectacular in size. The gym has been received very well by all our guests and we cannot wait to have people back in the hotel to enjoy it. The Spa will hopefully be completed by the end of summer to early autumn to make sure you keep an eye on our social media and get yourselves booked in. Finally, thank you for your comment regarding our Covid measures. Guest safety is of the utmost importance to us, and we will continue to do all we can to keep everyone safe. Look forward to welcoming you back very soon. Martin

We visited the hotel between Christmas and New Year 2020. It is such a beautiful house with lots of amazing rooms to sit in and relax, play games and escape from the outside world. The gardens are also well maintained and make a lovely wander, we were lucky enough to be able to explore in fresh snow. The whole place was quite magical... would make the perfect wedding venue.

Wonderful location, lovely hall, the service from the staff could not be faulted , the meal of cakes and sandwiches was top rate. We dinned in the chapel which was very nice but looking at the saloon that would be the room to be seated in , This was our first visit but will return during the spring The only down side was the state of the road to the hall from the village, yes we had had a lot of rain before hand but a 4+4 would have been the car to use.

Dear Phillip, Thank you so much for your 5-star review. I am incredibly happy you enjoyed your Afternoon Tea with us. We would have loved to have served the Festive Afternoon Tea in the Saloon but it has always proved so popular that The Chapel is works best to allow as many people as possible to enjoy this wonderful event. We do serve Afternoon Tea in The Saloon restaurant Monday to Saturday so if you would like to experience that please do get in contact and we can get you booked in. Regarding the drive, this is something that our grounds team do work on constantly and we are looking for more permanent solutions to the surface. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Martin

Had an excellent afternoon tea in the chapel at the hall. Someone met us on arrival and took our coats and showed us to our table. We could not fault the staff who were very professional and provided excellent service. The food was lovely and we had to bring some home as we could not eat it all. My only comment would be you enter via electronic gates which we missed first time around so a little guidance on how to find the entrance to the hall would help. A few of us went to the golf club by mistake. Once your through the gates and go up the driveway the views were stunning as it was a beautiful day.
