What a groovy boutique-style hotel in the middle of the Black Forest! Absolutely gorgeous decor and our room was very cool, complete with rainbow chandelier, large porthole-style windows looking out into the forest and multicoloured gnomes. The bed and pillows weren't the comfiest, but the room was spotless and spacious and there was great lighting. The bathroom had a nice...

We spend the day in Freiburg, had diner there and after that we where looking for a relaxed place to stay. It had a good recommendation and the pictures looked good. The room was basic white, clean with little windows. We had a room on the back where also is the terras. With nice weather this means noise. I did...

Very good located in a nice calm area, between Titisee and Freiburg (10 min away from Freiburg). The rooms are wide and the decor is very nice. We stayed in the Blummen room (very nice). Excellent price/value relation.

This hotel is a refreshing novelty in a local theme -an old barn decked out in style with a strong emphasis on timber. The rooms were very nice, the staff were very friendly and receptive to an English speaking tourist and the food was of a very high standard - pre requisite Black Forest cake, breakfast and dinner. Would not...

We slept four nights in this hotel. Our room was “Bauernstube”, a very spacious and cosy bedroom with many wooden features and a big flat TV on one wall which, when switched off was a mirror. The room overlooked the street but we were never disturbed by the traffic as Kirchzarten, more precisely Burg, is a small and quiet village....

Dear Orchid99GB, thank you very much for your praise. We will think about ist to change our cutains in light-tight ones. This is a really good improvement suggestion. Kind Regards, Johanna Broscheit

We stayed in Eidelweiss. The room is beautiful, but there are a few practical design faults that were disappointing. The room is well insulated, and I suspect it will be comfortable in Winter, however, it is almost unbearable during warmer weather (I understand that Freiburg is the warmest city in Germany). The absence of an air-conditioner is understandable in older...

Dear Brendan S, thank you for this critical assessment. We deliberately decided against an air-conditioner, because of ecological reasons. Freiburg is a green City and we try to rest the environment as good as possible. Of course we will ask after some possibilities to cool up the room a little bit more. In addition we certainly have to talk with...

We recently stayed for a family wedding celebration on 3 nights in this converted barn which has a restaurant, terrace bar and shops on the ground floor. The first floor has been converted to large, individually themed en-suite bedrooms. The beds are large, clean and comfortable and we slept well. The third floor provides a banqueting space where the wedding...

Dear regken, thank very much for your assessment. Unfortunally a few rooms are sometime a bit noisy because of the street. Please inform us at your next booking that you wish to have a very quiet room, than we will try to arrange it. Kind Regards, Johanna Broscheit
